****FROM MONDAY 13TH JUNE AT ALL SWIM.****
During classes with All Swim, there is always an added element of water safety, this specific week gives us the opportunity to reinforce and give a clear message about safety around water.
🌊 Water Safety Week – Fun, Learning & Lifesaving Skills!
This year has already seen tragic and completely avoidable losses of young lives during the May heatwave. The dangers in and around water are very real, and the numbers speak loudly: the UK sees around 400 accidental drownings every year. In the last four years alone, 125 children (0–17) drowned in England — and 2 out of 5 were under five. More than 50 children lost their lives in inland open water.
These aren’t just statistics. They’re reminders of why Water Safety Week matters so much.

🌟 What We’re Doing in Class
I’m putting together a week of fun, hands on, memorable activities to help every child understand the dangers of beaches, rivers, lakes, and open water — without scaring them, but without sugar coating the risks either.
During the week, we’ll explore:
• Cold water shock using tap cold water (children can choose whether to take part — nothing will be forced)
• Rescues and emergencies — what to do, who to call, how to stay safe
• The drowning chain — the sequence of events that leads to drowning
• Open water dangers — currents, depth, cold, hidden objects, and more
