White Horse had 3 teams in the Over 55 Psirs yesterday. Unfortunately 2 teams didn't make it to the Knockout stages. However Karen and Les won their 1st knockout match to take them through to the Cup Competition. They were knocked out in the quarter finals by Alex and Linda who went on to win the competition. They did however come 4th place as National qualifiers, so hopefully will get a place in the Nationals in February.

White Horse Shires met with a strong Dinton team tonight. Despite a spirited effort, came off 2nd best. Final result White Horse Shires 2 points, Dinton Oaks 7 points.

Thanks to Seend for their hospitality tonight.
1st half saw the teams equal on points with a win each.
We stopped for tea and biscuits and went back onto the mats adequately refreshed.
Seend weren't put off by swapping mats however and went on to take a very good win on 1 mat and a draw on the other. Result Seend 6 points White Horse Colts 3 points.

Tonight both teams have their first match of the Winter League.
White Horse Shires are home to Dinton Oaks and White Horse Colts are venturing to Seend for their very first Match as a new team in the league.

White Horse Short Mat Bowls Club had a team in Bellinger Triples today and didn't we do well! The team was made up of Maureen Slater, Marion White and Karen Kirby, won 2 of the games in the mornings round Robin and lost 1 game by just 1 shot. As 3 of the teams in our Group all won 2 games, it went down to shot difference, but as 2 teams had the same shots, we just got through to the Cup semi Final on ends.
We were drawn to play North End. A tough game but we managed a good win, then onto the final against a team from Durrington Short Mat Bowls Club in the Cup Final. We started the game well winning the 1st 3 ends taking a 6-0 lead. Steve from Durrington played a brilliant shot on the 4th end removing our wood, holding 2nd place, out of the head, picking up 4 shots, a real game changer. They then went on to pick up 1 shot in the next 2 ends. Thus we went onto the final end all level. Despite our best efforts we dropped this end end too.
Congratulations to Durrington on their win, but well done to our ladies for a great day of bowling.
Thanks to Bellinger for a well run tournament and we hope to be back again next year!!

White Horse had a team in both the Mixed Fours and Fours National Qualifiers today. We came 3rd in the Mixed Fours having got off to a slow start in the morning.We did better in the afternoon in the Fours, winning our 1st 2 games. We were 2 up going into the last end of our 3rd and final game. All was looking good with us holding the shot, until the last wood was delivered by Bob, taking our bowl clean out and going down by 4 and therefore only getting 2nd place. Well.done to everyone who took part.

White Horse are off to Durrington Short Mat Bowls Club tonight for the 1st match of the Summer League.
Our new uniforms arrived yesterday so we hope to put a good show on tonight. Hopefully that includes the scores!!
