Cockermouth Combat Ju Jitsu

Cockermouth Combat Ju Jitsu Mondays 7pm - 9pm We are a club who's aim is to make self defence accessible to all abilities and fitness levels.

After many years training under sensei John Barney we took over the running of the adult mat as a team, each has his own specially and knowledge to pass on to our students. Our core martial art is Jujitsu but it encompasses much more than that, as we explore everything from throws, ground work, kicks, punches, chokes, locks and restraints and weapon work. You are able to progress at your own pace,

and should you wish advance through the grading system learning and developing your skills. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have

Jujitsu History can be traced back more than 2500 years.
It's developed from many individual teachings either orginated in Japan or travelled into Japan from other Asian countries.
It's understood the first mention of martial arts was from Huang-Di (China) who founded wu-su (martial arts) an art where the body is used for self defense
