Before the summer break, Wednesdays nights have been all about Battle Badminton as we held our annual Summer League — and what a season it’s been!
With over 35 players taking part, this has been our biggest and best league to date! 🙌

A huge well done to everyone who took part and made Thursday nights so much fun. The commitment, competitiveness and sportsmanship shown throughout have been fantastic. 👏

A massive well done to Owen and James, who represented Cockermouth Junior Badminton Club at the U17 Allstars today! 💪🏸

Both boys showed fantastic determination, battled hard throughout their matches and represented the club brilliantly. We’re incredibly proud of the effort, attitude and commitment they put in. 👏

Travelling out of the area to compete in a Silver-standard circuit tournament is never easy, and both boys stepped up and gave it their all. 💪🏸

It’s fantastic to see them gaining valuable experience, challenging themselves against strong opposition and continuing to develop their game.

Well done, boys — onwards and upwards! 👏🏸

Here’s a look back at the last six weeks of training at Cockermouth Junior Badminton Club! Our players have been putting in a huge amount of effort, developing their fitness, speed, agility, footwork and strength both on and off the court.
The progress everyone has made has been fantastic to see, and it’s a credit to the commitment and attitude shown at every session.
Now it’s time for a well-deserved summer break! 🌞 We hope everyone has a fantastic holiday, enjoys some time to recharge, and comes back ready to go again.
📅 Training resumes in the first week of September, and we can’t wait to see you all back on court for another exciting season.
Thanks to all the players, parents and volunteers for your continued support.

🏸 U15 All Stars Bronze – Lancashire 🏸

A huge well done to Blair and Noah, who represented Cockermouth Junior Badminton club today at the U15 All Stars Bronze Tournament in Lancashire.

Although the results didn’t quite go their way, both players showed fantastic determination, resilience and a willingness to keep competing against strong opposition throughout the day.

These tournaments are all about gaining valuable match experience, and both Blair and Noah did exactly that.

There were plenty of positives to take away, including some excellent rallies, improved shot selection, and growing confidence as the day progressed. Noah pushed one of his singles matches all the way to 17–21, while Blair and Noah came agonisingly close to taking their doubles match to a decider, narrowly losing 20–22 after a superb performance.

Competing at this level is never easy, but every match provides another opportunity to learn and improve.

I’m proud of the attitude, sportsmanship and effort both players showed from the first match to the last.
Well done, Blair and Noah—we’re looking forward to seeing all the hard work from today pay off in future tournaments! 💪🏸
