Is the rowing machine the most efficient way to train for climbing mountains with fixed lines whilst in the gym?
I reckon it's got to be up there as one of the best, if not the best way to get 'bang for your buck' training.
𦡠The legs do a lot of the work, and everything gets targeted.
πͺ The back and arms get a brilliant workout. From working the Lats, Rhomboids and Traps well, to also giving the Biceps, Triceps and Forearms a solid hit. That repeated motion of pulling on a jumar on a fixed line isn't too dissimilar apart from the fact it's one handed.
π Your core is constantly stabilising, exactly as it does when hiking or climbing with a heavy pack on.
π₯΅ And we can't forget the cardio. Whether you want a steady Z2 to build that aerobic base, or some efforts thrown in for V02 / Lactate Threshold, the world is your lobster.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the rowing machine? What have I missed?
