This week has been greens maintenance week with greens being scarified, verti-cut and solid tined, following tomorrow with a granular fertiliser application. We have also had a demonstration deep verti-cut machine in to do some much needed work on the 10th fairway. Set to -16mm this allows us to rip out some of the organic matter in the turf, firming up the surface with a sand topdressing afterwards and helps water percolation through the turf profile reducing water retention.
