Another "invincible" WOS Boys League Championship for Lanarkshire and well played Jack Barnes, Diarmuid Slavin & Leo McCallion who all played a significant part in the LGA win.

Heartbreak for the Drumpellier Golf Club kids today in the Lanarkshire Junior League Play Off Final at Wishaw.

We drew 3-3 with a very strong Lanark team and lost the title on a holes up count back.

This was our 9th Lanarkshire final in the last 10 years, winning 6 and drawing 3, only losing out on a holes up count back. What a performance over the last 10 years.👏

I am super proud of all the boys that played in our sectional league title win and throughout the play off series.

Today we had a 12 year old, a 13 year old, a 14 year old and a 15 year old playing.

Our future is in good hands.👍

I am super proud of everyone who pulled on a Drumpy shirt this year.👏

Drumpy Juniors Finals Day
-Friday 28.8.26.

Well it was finals day today with our scratch, handicap and short course match play finals taking place from the top 8 qualifiers in each category on championship day!

Scratch

Jack Barnes beat Leo McCallion to do the double (stroke play & match play) in his last year in the junior section.
He also completed back to back match play championships and leaves with 4 "majors", 2 junior championships and 2 match play championships.👏🏆🏆🏆🏆

Young Leo played really solid but on this occasion his putter was stone cold. Don't worry Leo your first Drumpy "major" isn't far away.

Handicap

In the handicap final Alexander Watson was giving away a lot of shots and Leo Marshall raced into a 3 hole lead. Alexander battled away and took the match to the 17th but a solid par from Leo clinched his first big win in only his second season in the junior section. Brilliant stuff Leo.👏🏆

Well done Leo and hard luck to Alexander. Don't beat yourself up Alexander as your Mum must have silvo on speed dial to polish all your trophies!

Short Course (9 holes)

A great final between 2 young dudes in their first match play final. Young Leo Priesty played fantastic and had 3 gross pars in the holes played to beat Cameron McFarlane, who also played great, but giving Leo 2 strokes was just too much on this occasion.👏🏆

Well played both boys who have gained great experience in reaching the final.👏👏

A disappointing turn out today.

Congratulations go to Jay Hannaway on winning the medal and qualifying for next year's Donaldson Shield Final with a cracking 96 (28) 68.

Luke Miller won the Short Course medal with 44 (7) 37.

Congratulations to 12yo Alexander Watson on winning the DS Final following a photo finish of good scores!👀🏆

Alexander won by 1 shot from Clyde Gallagher, the Lanarkshire Handicap Matchplay Champion who had a PB gross 83!👏

A tremendous achievement by Alexander who is also in the final of the handicap match play.👏

Well it's finally happened!
Our first GIG coaching session took place today and the girls loved it and were so enthusiastic!

Our thanks to our teaching professional Aidan and of course to the girls.

Also thanks to one of older junior girls Elizabeth Robertson for helping Aidan out and making the girls feel at ease.👍

5 more sessions planned over the next few weeks, but remember you need to practice in between lessons girls!😂👍

You will recall we were given Scottish Golf "Girls into Golf" hub status.

We have now recruited 12 girls (2 groups of 6), all new to golf, and all aged 8-10.👍

Their journey starts this Sunday with our teaching professional Aidan McAuley.

We will be providing clubs for the girls and renting out half sets of junior clubs for only £30pa to get them started. Thanks to Scottish Golf for the joint funding.

Two of our older junior girls, Elizabeth and Molly, will be helping Aidan out and taking on a "mentoring " role.
They will also be trained as junior activators.
Thanks girls.👏👏

Updates and pictures will follow in due course.
