Well, what a day we had at our 8th Pro’s Day at Drumpellier yesterday !
With around 200 golfers turning out to play, it was another fantastic occasion. The weather turned out just about perfect once again, there was plenty of fun, competitiveness, eating and drinking, and most importantly it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves.
The feedback we received on the course was very positive, although some of the challenges still managed to catch a few people out!
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
Firstly, to Aidan and Cole for all their hard work throughout the day, and to John AJ McLachlan for stepping in to help sell raffle tickets for a few hours.
A big thank you also to Jamie (my father-in-law), Davy Johnstone, Kerry and Kirsty Spence, who did a fantastic job at the 9th hole keeping everyone fed and watered.
Thanks to my dad, George, for looking after the 7th hole challenge, and to the greens team for presenting the course so well and throwing in a few extra challenges along the way.
A special mention also goes to Hugh Pender, who once again supplied the best burgers in town.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who played, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets or supported the day in any way. The support we receive for Pro’s Day is second to none and never taken for granted.
This year we once again chose to support the British Heart Foundation, and thanks to the generosity of everyone involved and the persistence of Kerry, Orla and Kirsty…we raised a fantastic £700.
Congratulations to all of the prize winners on some magnificent scoring, and well done to the nearest-the-pin winners too.
Once again, thank you all for your continued support. It means a lot, and we’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year.
