💚 WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A FIREFLY… ✨💛

We’re kicking off our brand-new series this winter season! 🔥

Over the coming weeks, you’ll hear from some of the incredible ladies across Team Green 💚 and Team Yellow 💛, sharing what being a Firefly means to them!

First up… our super defender, LINZI! 🏐💪

“Being a Firefly has introduced me to a team of lovely, supportive ladies. I’ve met some of my best friends being a part of this team. I hadn’t played netball since being at school and being a Firefly has reignited my love for the game. It’s improved my fitness and my confidence, and I love getting on the court for matches and at training!”

And THIS is exactly what being a Firefly is all about. 💚💛

💚 Following on from TEAM GREENS first game back they get to go again this sunday in the NWL winter league and after their performance last week they are more than energised!!! 💚

👀 Our opponents are strong, competitive and as a previous div 2 team they are not afraid to show their quality 🏐....but neither are Team Green.

💚MATCH REPORT | FIREFLIES GREENS vs MELBOURNE COMETS 💚

🔥 WHAT. A. GAME! 🔥

From the first whistle, both teams came out fierce 🔥! Both teams were determined to make every ball count, and after Q1 Melbourne had taken the lead.

The communication across the team was impressive — constant talking, encouragement and trust. 👏 We wasn't giving up though!!

THE FOLLOWING QUARTERS WE FOUGHT HARD!! In Q2 right near the end we had a injury to our chlo and we had to swiftly rearrange our game tactical plan but we wasnt fazed, we was even more ready for it!

🛡️ WOW, THOSE LONGBOMBS AND INTERCEPTS! 😮‍💨🔥

There was plenty of positives and there was some FANTASTIC shooting against a tough defence.
We was looking for them chances to feed the 🏐 into the D and we played the ball back and forth well until the opportunity was there to strike, we NEVER gave up.

We're really proud of how we played especially with the added bonus of the new players to the team and our first match back showed Greens aren't here to make up the numbers we mean business 💚

The Comets showed great determination, fought well and ultimately commanded themselves to victory.

Despite the result, there were SO many positives to take away. The fight, the communication, the teamwork and those strong worked passes down the court. 🔥

✨PLAYERS PLAYER- ALI & TERRI✨️

ALI… visible and vocal on the ball supporting attack and defence strongly!
And
TERRI...silent but deadly, created space and control flow throughout the court, and wow them seamless feeds into the attacking circle through a very tough defence were awesome!.

⭐ PLAYER OF THE GAME — LINZI ⭐

Linzi was commanding in Defence, pushing forward and finding the space when we needed it and communicating strongly for the defence D duo. Her hard work didn’t go unnoticed as she deservedly took home Player of the Game from Melbourne! 👏💚

It's an early one but GREENS are more than ready to take to that court today! 💚

Today TEAM GREEN are taking on the mighty MELBOURNE COMETS in what’s set to be a fierce fixture.

For Charl, it’s all about support, inclusivity and confidence:

🐦 BELGRAVE FOUGHT BACK!

The Robins showed great determination, fought their way back into the game and ultimately commanded themselves to victory.

Despite the result, there were SO many positives to take away. The fight, the communication, the teamwork and those turnovers wow! 🔥

Our TEAM worked brilliantly together! Simple communication, complete trust and great teamwork! 💛

She was fantastic at finding space and moving the ball around the D, keeping the attack flowing and creating goals.

Lisa was commanding in attack, finding the space when we needed it and creating opportunities for the team. Her hard work didn’t go unnoticed as she deservedly took home Player of the Game from Belgrave Robins! 👏💛
