Natural beauty at its best.

It is a young woodland and a refuge for wildlife in the city, incorporating a variety of habitats including woodland, heathland, wetland and meadow.

It is one of Swansea's largest urban fringe woodlands - which commands stunning views over the city and Swansea Bay.

Look out for birds such as skylark, night jar, linnet, peregrine, redwing, song thrush, fieldfare, raven and whitethroat. The rare small blue butterfly has also been recorded at the site.

£40m cable car plan 'would trash historic hill'

Kate Ashbrook, general secretary of the Open Spaces Society, has called on the council to “treasure the hill, not trash it”.
She said: "Kilvey Hill is immensely valuable as a tranquil green space right on Swansea’s doorstep, a part of the city which is lacking in open spaces.
“Skyline’s development will destroy all this."
Heather Mylan, 65, who lives near the hill, described the situation as “heartbreaking”.
She said: “It’s the one piece of countryside I have access to. I can’t go down the Gower because it’s too far and expensive on the bus, but within five minutes I’m here in the countryside."
