🎉2025 has been a landmark year for Clevedon Lawn Tennis Club, celebrating outstanding on-court success, a busy coaching programme, record-breaking membership, and a vibrant social scene. Across all sections of the club, from juniors to veterans, the strength, depth and spirit of Clevedon LTC have been on full display….
Team Successes 💪🎾🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
The year began in emphatic fashion with Clevedon crowned Avon Mixed Winter League Division 2 Champions, remaining unbeaten throughout the entire season – a superb achievement that set the tone for the year ahead.
The North Somerset Summer League delivered exceptional results:
The Men’s 1st Team were crowned Division 1 Champions, winning every match to emphatically reclaim their position as the top men’s team in the county.
The Men’s 2nd Team secured the Division 2 title, while the 3rd Team won Division 4.
The 4th Team narrowly missed out on promotion after a highly competitive season.
In addition, the club proudly fielded 5th and 6th men’s teams, who played a programme of friendlies and achieved some excellent results, highlighting the club’s impressive strength in depth.
The North Somerset Ladies’ Team also performed strongly across their divisions, continuing to develop and compete at a high level. The North Somerset 1st Team finished 3rd in the top division, the 2nd team won division 4, the 3rd team finished mid table also in division 4 and the 4th team gained promotion from division 7.
In the Avon Leagues, Clevedon enjoyed further success:
The Avon Men’s teams won Division 4 and gained promotion from Division 9.
The Ladies’ teams won Division 5.
The Avon Men’s 45+ Team once again demonstrated their quality and consistency by retaining the Avon League title.
Junior Tennis & Coaching
Junior tennis continues to flourish at Clevedon. The club fielded junior teams for both boys and girls across 10&U, 11&U, 12&U, 14&U and 18&U age groups, reflecting the strength and depth of the junior section.
Supporting this success is a comprehensive junior coaching programme for children aged 3 to 18 years, offering structured group sessions for beginners alongside invite-only sessions for the club’s top junior players, ensuring talent is both nurtured and challenged.
Adult Coaching & Participation
Adult coaching remains a key strength of the club, with sessions catering for beginners, improvers, club players and league competitors. In addition, Cardio Tennis has continued to grow in popularity, offering a high-energy workout focused on fitness, movement and intensity in a fun, tennis-based environment.
Alongside coaching, the club runs a wide range of social play sessions throughout the week, ensuring members of all abilities have regular opportunities to play, improve and connect.

Membership & Club Life
2025 also marked a milestone off the court, with Clevedon enjoying its busiest membership ever, boasting more members than at any point in the club’s 145-year history — a remarkable achievement and a testament to the welcoming, inclusive atmosphere of the club.
Members have enjoyed a full calendar of activities, including:
Regular social tennis sessions
Tennis holidays to destinations both in the UK and abroad
A well-stocked bar, comfortable clubhouse, and lovely well maintained grounds
A busy and varied social calendar, ensuring the club remains a thriving hub both on and off the court
New LED lighting for all courts
Looking Ahead
With league titles across multiple competitions, a well run junior pathway, record membership numbers, and a strong sense of community, 2025 will be remembered as a great year in Clevedon Lawn Tennis Club’s long and proud history. The challenge now is to build on this momentum and look forward to more achievements in the seasons ahead.
