πŸ† *MATCH RESULT*πŸ†

Tonight we played our final game of the season, a huge Cup Final match against Ludford Rovers.
A big test for the boys against a top pedigree team from the Division above and im pleased to say that our boys gave it there all.
Unfortunately we were unable to get this one over the line as the experienced Ludford Rovers team ran out 3-0 winners. Arguably a scoreline which does not replicate a true reflection of this well contested match.
The Trin boys battled hard and in a very open first half it was Ludford who hit us with a sucker punch as we slowly worked our way through the gears. The scoreline was a very tense 1-0 as we went in at halftime, Liam Clapham came closest to getting us back level however Ludfords keeper (who was excellent all night) made a terrific one on one stop to deny us our opening goal.
At halftime we knew we were still in with a chance as we were arguably the better team as we tried to push on, however Ludford managed to grab the 2nd goal of the night which unfortunately for us the linesman on the far side seemed to miss a blatant offside decision (only 5 yards in it πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ) , and this was a massive turning point in the match.
As a team we can take losing and Ludford were excellent value for money so no complaints there, however when you see a linesman leant against the crowd barrier not even keeping up with play and chatting to the supporters whilst the match is still in play its a real bitter pill to swallow especially on what was a massive occasion for us as the new boys to this well established league.
Ludford went on to score a final goal in the dying stages of the match and in fairness they deserved their 3-0 win tonight....... a very well drilled team who put up an excellent fight all whilst playing excellent football in the process.
Congratulations to all involved at Ludford Rovers on this win.πŸ‘

FINAL SCORE - LUDFORD 3-0 CLEE TRIN

Man of the match tonight was Riley Phillips........ Riley has played for me since he was a young boy, and tonight i was so proud of the way he conducted himself. The fight this 17 year old kid has in him considering he is pretty much always one of the smallest (and youngest) players on the pitch is staggering. Riley battled for absolutely everything, hit our opponents with some huge challenges, covered his team mates whilst winning his own individual battles. A truly solid performance which deserved soo much more.
My Mr reliable as always, absolutely class Ry.
Special mention also for another one of the young lads.... Ethan Wickham who was also another who defended from right back like his life depended on it...some big tackles and plenty of marauding runs from the big lad who had a solid night in a Trin shirt so well done Wicko.
πŸ’ͺπŸ‘Š

Not the result we hoped for..... but we bow out as league and cup champions.
So to get the double in our first season of adult football whilst also making it to a cup quarter final and then this final tonight is definitely something which we can all be proud of.
Its been a fantastic season and we as a club have proved more than once that we can mix it with the big boys.......therefore we welcome the challenge of being promoted into the top flight next season where we will be looking to make a big statement straight from the off.

The Gaffers (Deano & Azza) would like to thank every single person who has represented this team in one way or another and helped us achieve everything which we have this season.
Its been a privilege to be a part of something special which is only going to get bigger and better so watch this space!!!!

We now look forward to a well earned break and a few drinks as we organise our end of season presentation which will take place in Early May.

Well done lads........you've done this club proud.

On Saturday we were in cup Quarter-final action against Division one opponents Manby FC in the Cusworth Cup.
Hoping to continue our fine run of form we started the game brightly with both teams battling for possession in a game which proved difficult to take control of on another hard and bobbly pitch.
Manby were well organised and had a team of very well drilled players who each knew their job within a very tightly squeezed team.
We got ourselves off to a dream start as Mackenzie Overend found himself through on goal with 2 defenders chasing him, Macca calmly bided his time and waited for the perfect moment to strike as the Manby goalkeeper came rushing out enabling Macca to gain the space needed to cooly slot the ball into the back of the net.
The game was very open with lots of loose balls which proved a real hindrance for even our technically gifted players to get a hold of with the ball bouncing off shins and bobbling up at every opportunity.
It wasn't long before a nice Manby move saw them get themselves level meaning we had to up our game if we were to get a result.
A moment of real quality mixed with a hint of good fortune saw George Horrocks awarded a controversial goal after a looping clearance from a Manby defender hit an overhead telephone cable which diverted the ball straight down and onto Jinx's right foot as he struck a first time volley, an audacious strike with impeccable timing. We went in 2-1 to the good at halftime with it all to play for.
The 2nd half was unfortunately a turning point for us and not in a good way as we seemed to switch off and uncharacteristic errors started to creep in. Our opponents took full advantage and with a few moments of real quality mixed with a bullet header and a worldy of a strike from outside the box Manby booked themselves a place in the Semi-final after a tidy 4-2 win against a very in form Trin side.
A bad day at the office for our lads who have played plenty of football over recent weeks, but take nothing away from our opposition who were excellent value for money and thoroughly deserved there win today.
It was another example that we can definitely compete with the big boys in the league above therefore plenty of positives for this young Clee Trin group of players to take away.

Man of the match was George Horrocks (Jinx) who was superb in the centre of our midfield and always looked like a real threat. Jinx once again showcasing his goalscoring prowess
With his wonderful strike. A top performance albeit he will feel frustrated as this game was definitely one which we could have grabbed a result from had we played in tge sane manner as previous weeks.
Nonetheless a top performance from Jinx and hopefully the catalyst for another top performance from the midfield maestro as we look to our final game of the season this Tuesday night as we face Ludford Rovers in the ELFC Centenary up final

Next up - Tue 21st April - Ludford Rovers (ELFC CENTENARY CUP FINAL.

πŸ† *MATCH RESULT*πŸ†

Tonight we were in cup Semi-final action in the ELFC Centenary Cup.
After beating North Somercotes first team and then their reserves in the previous rounds we were drawn against another 1st Division team who we knew would be a tough nut to crack as we welcomed Bradley FC First team to our home pitch out at North Thoresby.
The game started very openly with both teams passing the ball around with real purpose on what was a very bobbly pitch.
With only 13 players available for this tie we knew that we would have to dig in....and thats exactly what the boys did.
We opened the scoring after around 20 minutes after an audacious assist via Mackenzie Overend who utilised a Rabona to flick the ball around 2 defenders and into the path of Liam Clapham who raced through on goal and tucked the ball well past the outcoming Bradley keeper....another trademark Clapham goal which highlighted how devastating he is in front of goal.
It wasn't long before we found ourselves 2-0 up as Kai Smith put his name to a 2nd assist in as many weeks with another peach of a ball out from defence which landed perfectly for Brett Gladding to latch onto and from a tight angle on the left he lofted the ball over the keeper and into the far corner of the net.
We went in 2-1 up at halftime after our opponents grabbed themselves a goal back after a nice move saw them in between our lines to make this a very interesting game.
Alfie Harney was yet again on hand in goal for us to help stop any promising attacks, and it was another week which saw Harney pull off an absolutely worldy of a save from close range which Bradley must have thought they were going to score.
Harney was colossal throughout this match and saved plenty yet again showing just how good he is.
After the break we came out and continued plugging away with chance after chance falling our way as we created so many good opportunities with Ashley Carroll being a huge part of supplying our front line with plenty of pin point balls over the top and into the channels for them to run onto.
We should have been at least 6 maybe 7-2 up early on in the second half but just struggled to take our chances, mixed with some excellent saves from our opposition goalkeeper.
However Levi Stoakes managed to stretch our lead as Clapham raced away with the ball past the Bradley defence before unselfishly squaring the ball to Stoakes who fired home from close range...a shot that could easily have hit the houses 2 miles back from the field but on this occasion Levi was ruthless and spanked the ball into the gaping net.
This goal gave us the momentum needed and hard work from Macca saw him get his second assist of the night after threading Carroll through on goal where he made no mistake whilst under plenty of pressure in the box as he dispatched his shot in fine style making it 2 goals in his last 2 games for the youngster and yet another fantastic performance in a Trin shirt.
As we entered the final quarter of the game our legs began to get tired and you could see the effects of all the hard graft and running taking its toll on the Trin lads.....and with Bradley being a quality side they started creating more chances of their own and eventually grabbed another goal after splitting our defence in two on a quick counter before slotting past Harney making the score 4-2 with 10 minutes to go.
However there was no come back on this occasion as the Trin lads managed the game very well and even had time to put the cherry on the cake as Stoakes grabbed his 2nd goal of the night which came from his own hard graft as he chased a loose ball, taking it off our opponents defender before firing a very tidy shot goal bound and sealing the win for us in this well played cup Semi-final.
Special mention to both Kai Smith and Josh Hill who both showed real commitment for this team, with Josh only landing back in the country from holiday in the early hours of this morning and Kai who belted home from a course in Sheffield before heading straight back after the game......I genuinely love stuff like that and appreciate both of your efforts lads πŸ‘Œβ€οΈ

Final score was a 5-2 win which sees us make our way to a second cup final of the season where we hope to replicate the last one and lift yet another trophy πŸ†. Our opponents for this have been confirmed as Division 1 league runners up Ludford Rovers with the final taking place out at the MKM Louth FC Stadium on Tuesday 21st April with a 7pm kick off for anyone wanting to show their support for the boys.

Man of the match was Levi Stoakes who was absolutely everywhere and thoroughly deserved his two goals.
A very accomplished performance from the 17 year old who put on a real performance as he covered every blade of grass as he ran his socks off for the good of his team, a great lad...a great player. Chuffed to bits for you tonight Levi.....well in lad.πŸ‘Œβ€οΈβš½οΈπŸ‘ŠπŸ’ͺ

πŸ† *MATCH RESULT*πŸ†

Yesterday saw us playing in the quarter-final of the ELFC Centenary Cup.
After beating North Somercotes FC (First team) in the previous round on penalties we were drawn against their reserve team for this cup clash.
We started very well and stroked the ball around nicely with us dominating play from the very first whistle. On what was a very bobbly pitch the Trin lads used the ball well and maintained excellent shape causing our opponents no end of problems, which eventually lead to the opening goal which saw George Horrocks (Jinx) awarded the plaudits after some fine footwork on the left wing as he twist and turned his way past 4 Somercotes players before firing towards goal and seeing it bounce into the goal via a sliding Defender on the goal line.
We continued to dominate play with Chris Ward making his long awaited debut for the club after being out injured, Wardy was colossal in the centre of our midfield, winning absolutely every ball which came within 10 yards of him.
Our second goal was another belter out of Kye Petersons ridiculous locker as Kybo struck another rocket from outside the penalty area leaving their keeper absolutely no chance and putting us 2 nil up. We kept plugging away with our opponents showing great resilience as they tried to keep us at bay...Alfie Harney was on hand to sniff out any danger as he was called upon more times than we would have liked as the game progressed.
Our third goal was a well worked finish with Kai Smith sending a 30 yard pinpoint switch across field which saw Kybo rise highest to get a brilliant flick on which Oscar Price pounced onto with a brilliantly timed run taking him beyond the Somercotes defence before firing into the back of the net in devastating fashion.
At 3-0 we looked comfortable however a few mistakes across our back line saw our opponents cease the opportunity to grab themselves a goal back which seemed to give them a major boost as they began putting some pressure of their own back onto us.
However Jinx was on hand to cheekily widen our lead once more after he cleverly stepped up and curled a free kick around the wall at low level tricking all players (including our own) signing off in fine style with another fantastic shift in a Trin shirt.
Our final goal was scored after great movement from Ash Carroll who found himself on the end of a very good cross and a tidy header saw his goal put us 5-1 up which was well deserved as Ash put in a very good shift for the team.
Final score was a 5-1 which sets up a Semi-final tie with Bradley FC.

Man of the match was Wardy who was absolutely immense. As already mentioned the seasoned midfielder won absolutely everything and was just an all round machine working tirelessly for the team, a fantastic debut which really highlighted what a great addition to this squad he is.

Next up - Bradley FC

Tuesday night saw us in action for the 1st round of the ELFC Centenary Cup.
This was a huge test for the lads coming up against a high pedigree Div 1 team in North Somercotes FC (First team).
Our opponents came out of the blocks and showed real quality from the off.
It wasn't long before we found ourselves 1 nil down as we were unable to clear our lines, meaning that we had to regroup and sort ourselves out fast.
Liam Clapham got us back level just before the stroke of halftime maintaining his fine goalscoring form.
The game was played at a high intensity with us having to dig deep and graft hard in order to keep up with play, our opponents moved the ball around well and should be applauded for some of the lovely football played.
Just like the 1st half we managed to keep ourselves in the game with Clapham once again scoring and making sure that we got ourselves to the final whistle all square at 2-2.
This cup match went straight to penalties and luckily for us and after superb games by both goalkeepers it was our man Alfie Harney who came out on top... Alfie made countless saves throughout the match and kept us in the tie with his usual high class performance, in all honesty there won't have been a person pitchside that didn't tell you just how good Alfie was πŸ‘Œ.
After a few tense penalties and both teams missing a couple the final say came down to Riley Phillips with the 17 year old confidently stroking the ball home with an audacious strike taking us through to the next round.
Final score was a 4-3 win after penalties for the Trin.
North Somercotes were arguably the better team across this tie but our hard work and determination got us over the line as lady luck favoured us on the night.

Man of the match was the above mentioned Alfie Harney who was nothing short of superb in goal for us..... commanding, quick off his line, fantastic distribution and plenty of match winning saves to help keep us in the game.
So well done Alf....another one of our young guns at only 17 years old and arguably one of the best in the business πŸ‘ŒπŸ’ͺπŸ‘Š

Final score 2-2 (4-3 after pens to Clee Trin)

Next up - We now face North Somercotes Reserves in the next round of the Centenary Cup.
Match to be played Sat 11th April away at North Somercotes 13:30 KO.

Saturday saw us in action for our final league match of the season against Louth FC Reserves in what was a very dominant display from the Trin boys.
On what was a nice sunny day on a very good pitch we gave a very good account of ourselves as league champions.
The wind did its best to spoil the flow of the game but both teams battled well to combat this with the match played in good spirits showcasing some excellent football throughout.
An excellent performance saw us run out 6-0 winners with goals coming from Mackenzie Overend who grabbed himself another brace and yet again highlighting his deadly eye for goal..this coming off the back of Maccas 2 goals in our cup final win only 4 days earlier. Liam Clapham also found his name on the scoresheet after yet another fantastic strike which sees him pulling away as the teams current top goalscorer seeing him with a tidy return so far for the season with 14 goals in 11 games.
Levi Stoakes popped up yet again and is really starting to show how good he is for the team as he is now starting to add the goals to his all round play with Saturday being another match which saw him finish off a nice move.
Our final 2 goals were scored by two of our more recent signings who have both hit the ground running in Trin colours,
George Horrocks (Jinx) showed some ridiculous movement all game as he impressed with some filthy footwork whilst putting in a very hard shift in the centre of our midfield....Jinx was rewarded with a goal which came from his own hard graft and creativity.
The last goal to mention was scored in superb Fashion as Kye Peterson (Kybo) smashed a 25 yarder right into the top corner as he swivled and reacted instinctively leaving the Louth keeper absolutely no chance πŸš€.

Man of the match was the above mentioned Kybo....who covered every blade of grass and refused to give up on any ball within 15 yards of him, a real solid performance from a lad who has settled straight into this team showing exactly why he came to us with a great name for himself from anyone within the local football scene. Well in Kybo πŸ‘ŠπŸ’ͺ

Final score 6-0

A nice way to wrap up the final league game which saw us stretch our lead and goal difference at the top of the table πŸ†

Next up - We face North Somercotes FC 1st team in the first round of the Centenary Cup.
Match to be played Tues 7th April away at North Somercotes 18:00 KO.
