A fantastic team performance today as the lads ran out deserved 4-1 winners. 👏
Our aim was clear, to press high, win the ball back early & make life difficult for the opposition. Credit to the boys, because when they worked together & pressed from the front, we controlled large spells of the game & dictated the tempo.
Another target for today was to compete for every first and second ball, & the lads delivered. Their desire, work rate & willingness to battle meant we won plenty of those key duels, allowing us to keep pressure on & create chances throughout the match.
There are still areas to improve, & that’s exactly what grassroots football is all about. At times we looked a little ragged at the back, giving ourselves unnecessary work to do. It’s something we’ll continue to work on in training, but it’s encouraging that the boys kept responding positively & never let their heads drop.
Overall, it was a really pleasing performance with plenty of positives to take away. A 4-1 win, some excellent pressing, great teamwork & another step forward in the way we want to play.
Well done to every single player it so good to see 4 different goal scorers today, & you should all be proud of your efforts. Thank you, as always, to our fantastic parents & supporters for your encouragement from the sidelines. Your support means a lot to the boys. 💪⚽
