💥DOUBLE WIN AT ROUND 8💥

Vaus Motorsport headed to Fulbeck for round 8 of the 2024 race season. With 6 drivers in the team, confidence was high to bring the silverware home.
Although the Snr classes were low in numbers, it still made for some competitive racing, the weather wasn’t consistent for Sunday race day with changeable conditions throughout.

Mark Taylor - Rotax 177kg

Heat 1: P6 to P1 lap time of 45.1
Heat 2: P3 to P1 lap time 45.50
Heat 3: P1 to P1 lap time 46.08

A great solid weekend racing for Mark securing all the 3 heat wins and fastest laps. The final was challenging with the downpour but a great drive saw Mark take the win by over 11 secs along with fastest lap.
Great clean sweep giving Mark a solid haul of points for the championship.

Richard Ball - Rotax 177KG

Heat 1: DNS
Heat 2: DNS
Heat 3: DNS

Disappointing race Sunday for Richard given the pace was good on Saturday test day with no issues at all. Sunday race day arrived and engine / electrical gremlins which caused a DNS.

Harley Young - Rotax 162 kg

TQ: A TQ time of 44.77 sec would see Harley qualify on P8.
Heat 1: A decent drive from P8 to P4.
Heat 2: P4 to P7.

The 10min final would see all drivers having to manage a very wet challenging circuit, Harley would start in P6 and take the flag in a solid P4.
A good drive with a quick time of 56.47 indicates the podium steps are not top far away now.

Lucas Bell - Rotax 162 kg

TQ: A great time of 44.06 would see Lucas qualify in P3.
Heat 1: P3 to P3
Heat 2: A strong drive from P3 to P2 on a damp drying track.

The final would see Lucas start in P2 and take the flag in P5.
Lucas was running P3 for most of the race until a spin put him back to P5. A determined drive with a very good time of 56.48 just come with an unfortunate ending.
Great progress made over the weekend in both wet and dry conditions, again, top 3 podium spot is within touching distance.

Sean Smith - Rotax 162

TQ: A time of 44.37 would see Sean qualify in P5.
Heat 1: P5 to P5 with a time of 44.57.
Heat 2: A great drive from P5 to P1.

The final would see Sean start in P3 and take the flag in a solid P2.
Sean took the lead after a few laps and lead the race until the last few laps, under pressure from Myles Dorn. A slight error would see Sean slip back to P2. A very good day for Sean with the fastest lap of the race to also show for good measure.

Myles Dorn - Rotax 162 kg

TQ: A time of 43.98 would see Myles qualify in P2 after giving away his tow, a school boy error…
Heat 1: P2 to P2 and fastest lap.
Heat 2: P2 to P4.

The final saw Myles start the final on pole position. Myles would have a close battle with Sean for the race distance eventually taking the win by 1.6 secs and over 9 secs ahead of the driver in P3.
Myles secured the Rotax 162kg club championship last year and with this being the first time back in the team and kart for Myles in over 5 months, he showed his class.
He is heading to University now, so it was great having Myles and Kev back in the awning for one last time.

Great weekend with all drivers showing tremendous pace in all conditions, we would like to thank the COC, officials and marshals for putting on these events.

💥P1 AND CLEAN SWEEP FOR TAYLOR💥

A good strong entry of 90 plus drivers at Fulbeck. Although the Snr Rotax classes were low in numbers, it still made for some competitive racing, the weather was changeable for the Saturday practise but come Sunday race day, the weather remained dry for the duration.

Mark Taylor - Rotax 177kg

Heat 1 P1 to P1
Heat 2 P3 to P1
Heat 3 P5 to P1

A great solid weekend racing for Mark securing all the 3 x heat wins and fastest laps. Great drive in the 10- min A final to take the win and chequered flag.
Tremendous overall performance giving Mark a solid haul of points for the championship.

Richard Ball - Rotax 177KG

Heat 1 P5 to P6 setting a new PB of 46.04
Heat 2 P1 – P5
Heat 3 P8 – P6

The 10 - min final saw Richard starting on P3, a good solid drive would see Richard take the chequered flag in P3 and the final spot of the podium.
A good solid time of 45.8 less than 3 tenths away from the fastest lap and less than 2 secs behind the P2 slot.
Improving all the time and we are confidant Richard will be pushing hard for the P2 spot on the podium.

Harley Young - Rotax 162 kg

TQ A TQ time of 44.9 sec would see Harley qualify on P7 from 11 - drivers
Heat 1 After on track penalties, Harley would finish in P8 but a new PB of 44.500 sec
Heat 2 DNF on the opening lap due to collision through no fault of his own

The 10 min final would see Harley DNF due to a multiple collision of karts resulting in damage to his kart
Overall, disappointing weekend in heat 3 and the final through no fault of his own.
Positives to take away was a new PB of 44.500 which is a clear 3 secs a lap quicker from when Harley first started with the team so tremendous progress but just needs some luck to fall his way.

Overall, a great weekend for the team with 2 x podiums in the Rotax 177 class and a new PB for young Harley.
Special thanks to the COC, all Marshalls and the officials for putting on these great events.

On Sunday race day.

Mark Taylor - Rotax 177kg

Heat 2: P3 to P1
Heat 3: P6 to P3

The 10 min final saw Mark starting on P1, a good race with Dean over the full race distance would see Mark finish in P2 less than 7 tenths behind Dean along with posting the fastest lap of 45.20. Good haul of points for Mark in the championship.

Richard Ball - Rotax 177KG

Heat 1: P5 to P6 setting a new PB of 46.04
Heat 2: P1 – P5
Heat 3: P8 – P6

Heat 2: P9 to P7
Heat 3: P1 to P4

The 10 min final would see Mark start in P5 and would take the chequered flag in P5.
New PB for Marc of 45.9 so great steps moving forward.

Harley Young - Rotax 162 kg

TQ: A mechanical issue would see Harly only complete 4 – laps but would post a time of 45.3
Heat 1: P8 to P9 a new PB of 44.7 also
Heat 2: P9 to P9 after a 5 - sec penalty

The 10 min final would see Harley climb up the leader board from P6 to take the final spot on the podium of P3.
A great weekend racing settings quick laps times in all heats and the main A final.
First of many podiums for the young novice driver.

Lucas Bell - Rotax 162kg

TQ: A cracking time of 44.2 would put Lucas on P3
Heat 1: P3 to P4
Heat 2: P4 to P3

The 10 min final would see Lucas move up to P2 and push the leader Harry Lamond hard on his tail for 7 laps until a mechanical would give him a DNF.
A great weekend racing setting new PBs and pushing the leading two drivers hard all weekend.

Overall a great weekend for the team with podiums in both Rotax 177 and 162kg classes.
Special thanks to the Clerks, all Marshalls and the officials for putting on these great events.
Also, congrats to Harry and Myles on taking P1 and P2 in the Snr Rotax 162kg class

💥P1 IN 177 AT FULBECK💥

Vaus Motorsport headed to Fulbeck race circuit for round 2 of the 2024 race season.
A good strong entry of 87 drivers with good grids in all Rotax classes made for some competitive racing, the weekend was made more challenging for drivers and mechanics with the changing weather
throughout the weekend.

Mark Taylor: Rotax 177kg

Heat 1 P8 to P4
Heat 2 P5 to P4
Heat 3 P4 to P1

The 10 min final saw a great race for Mark starting on P1 and taking the lead and the win by 5+ secs. This is Mark’s first final win at Fulbeck and was a long time coming. A credit to his determination to improve and now a benchmark to go from. Great pace all weekend and a solid start to the season with 13 drivers on the grid.

Richard Ball: Rotax 177KG

Heat 1 P1 to P8
Heat 2 P7 to P3
Heat 3 P13 to P7

The 10min final would see Richard make a great start moving from P6 up to P4 by laps 2, an incident with another driver would see Richard race come to an end on lap 5 through no fault of his own.
Disappointing result in the final with a DNF, given the pace Richard showed in the wet heats.

Marc Cushley: Rotax 177Kg

Heat 1 P6 to P10
Heat 2 P12 to P11
Heat 3 P3 to P10

The 10 min final would see Mark move up the field to P6 and a good battle on track would see Mark finish in P7.
New PB for Marc so moving forward.

Harley Young: Rotax 162 kg

Heat 1 P18 to P8
Heat 2 P18 to P11
Heat 3 P18 to P8

The 10 min final would see Harley would see Harley start in P9 and battle with the field to finish in P17.
Disappointing result given the pace Harley showed in the wet in the heats earlier. A new PB of 45.9 was a real positive to take away thou from the meeting.

Lucas Bell: Rotax 162kg

Lucas would miss the March meeting due to an injury from skiing.

A challenging weekend for all but all the drivers can take positives away in setting their own new PBs in the wet and dry racing.
Final thanks to Automated Analytics, Force Motorsport and all the staff and marshalls at Fulbeck.

Vaus motorsport headed to Fullbeck for the warmup January round in readiness for the coming season.
Extremely strong winds made the weekend that more challenging for drivers and mechanics.

Mark Taylor in Rotax 177kg had a cracking weekend and showed good pace.

Heat 1 P3 to P3
Heat 2 P4 to P1
Heat 3 P1 to P1

The 12 - min final saw a great race unfold between Mark and Steve Steward, Mark led the race until the last few laps where Steve made the move to take the win.
Good pace and a solid start to the season.

Richard Ball new driver to the team in Rotax 177KG

Heat 1 P2 to P4
Heat 2 P4 to P3
Heat 3 P3 to P4

The 12 – min final would see Richard finish in P4, good pace with a time of 47.02, just 1 sec off the winning pace so great progress made over the weekend.

Marc Cushley, another new Rotax 177KG driver to the team.

Heat 1 P1 – P5
Heat 2 P5 – P4
Heat 3 P5 – P5

The 12- minute final would see Marc finish in P5, the pace was a bit off compared to Saturday practise but post-race would identify a cracked chassis would be the reason why

New Rotax 162kg Driver Harley Young was next out. Only Harleys 2nd time out in a two stroke kart, the youngster made rapid progress over the weekend.

Heat 1 P7 to P7 lap time 55.5
Heat 2 P7 to P6 lap time 48.4
Heat 3 P7 to P7 lap time 46.4

The 12- final would see Harley finish in P6 but with a cracking time of time of 46.19. Over the Sunday race day, a full 9- sec would be taken off his lap times.
Deff one to watch for the future.

162Kg Rotax driver Lucas Bell would miss Saturday practise as well as being out the seat since the November meeting so Sunday race day was always going to be an uphill
challenge.

Heat 1 P6 to P3
Heat 2 P3 to P5
Heat 3 P2 to P5

The 12 min final would be a challenge but Lucas’s lap times throughout the day were getting quicker every session. Starting in P4, Lucas had a great race and would finish in P3 with a time of 44.9, less than 2 sec behind he race winner.
Tremendous drive considering Lucas missed Saturday practise and was on well used tyres from last year.

A solid good shakedown round giving all new drivers a feel for the season ahead,
Special thanks to Julie, the COC, race officials for putting on a great weekend in difficult conditions.

💥P1 AND P2 IN SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP💥

After a long season, VAUS Motorsport secured a comfortable P1 and P2 in the club championship showing a strong level of dominance and consistency throughout the year.

Myles Dorn in only his first full year in Senior karting claimed P1 in the championship. Throughout the season he claimed the most wins and showcased his consistency in all conditions.

Harry Lamond kept Myles on his toes to take P2 in the championship. This was so close it went all the way to the last round where the winner was eventually decided. Harry’s form was coming on song in the latter stages of the year, smashing the lap record and winning the previous 2 rounds (on track).

Lucas Bell showed great potential ready for next season and will be a front runner. After only racing for less than 6 months, he is already showing he can mix it with the front runners so watch this space…

Lily Lamond really improved in the last 6 months after having driver coaching. Not long into the senior class, her racecraft has bettered immensely and she is now battling for positions in the midpack.

Throughout the season the marshals and officials have been great at the circuit so a big thank you to them. Thanks also to Darren Jones for brilliant chassis support, Force Motorsport and P1 Racing Engines for the power.

2024 is already shaping up to be another great year for VAUS Motorsport. If you are interested in kart setup or driver coaching please contact us on 07957279207.

See you next year🎄❄️

💥P1 AND P2 AT EAST OF ENGLAND CUP💥

VAUS Motorsport headed to Fulbeck IKR for the East of England Cup club championship with a strong line up of 6 - drivers across two classes.

Harry Lamond 6️⃣3️⃣

A close dual with his teammate put Harry on P2 with a time of 44.41 in timed qualifying.
Heat 1: DNF
Heat 2: Great drive from the back of the grid to finish in P2 after a nose cone penalty.
Heat 3: P2
PreFinal: DNF
Final: Harry would start from P6 and within a few laps was chasing teammate Myles down. A close battle throughout the race occurred which ended in Harry finishing P2.

Lucas Bell 1️⃣7️⃣

Only his 3rd time out in a two-stroke kart and after a 3-month layoff, Lucas was straight back on the pace and qualified P9 with a time of 44.9
Heat 1: P4
Heat 2: P6
Heat 3: P6
PreFinal: P4
Final: Starting from P4, Lucas had great start and was running with the top 3 for 70% of the race. Lucas would have taken the final spot on the podium for a P3 but a total break failure on the last 4 laps would end the day with a DNF.

Myles Dorn 3️⃣0️⃣

Business as usual for Mr Consistent, Myles was quick in the practise sessions and nailed the P1 spot in TQ with a 44.3
Heat 1: P1
Heat 2: P3
Heat 3: P1
PreFinal: P1
Final: A great start saw Myles pull away from the field, however, a hard-charging Harry was soon on his heels after starting from the back. He battled with Myles for the duration but it was Myles taking the win and the E plate, tremendous clean hard driving from both lads.

Matty Cook 5️⃣2️⃣

New back to the karting scene but this time in 177Kg trim, Matty is still getting to grips with the kart, set up and the Maxxis tyre.
A very close session in TQ would see Matty secure a P4 slot.
Heat 1: P5
Heat 2: DNF after being hit from behind hard into the 2nd chicane.
Heat 3: A mechanical DNF with the rear bumper, an issue caused by the hard hit from behind in the previous heat.
PreFinal: 4th
Final: Another strong race and a good battle with team driver Mark Taylor would see Matty finish in P5, again good pace only 1 – tenth off George in 2nd place.

Mark Taylor 9️⃣9️⃣

Out of the seat for 3 months, Mark was keen to get back up to speed in the 177KG class.
Not the start Mark wanted in TQ with a time of 46.4 would nett him a P5 in TQ.
Heat 1: P3
Heat 2: P5
Heat 3: P5
PreFinal: P5
Final: A good race with other drivers would see Mark finish in P4 with a time of 46.9. 12 mins would be a tough race for many drivers after a lot of laps racing over the three day event.

Lily Lamond 6️⃣2️⃣

A final mention should go to Lily Lamond, new to the 162Kg grid but certainly not afraid to get her elbows out in this competitive class.
After a day of coaching on Saturday, a new PB for Lils of 45.3 was a great achievement. She is showing more and more confidence and improvement as the season progresses which is great to see.

Final thanks to out to Force Motorsport for the power, Automated Analytics, and the Clerks, Marshalls, Scrutineers and Fulbeck staff for putting on a fantastic event.

🛑3 WINS BACK TO BACK IN SNR ROTAX🛑

⚡️Myles Dorn – Snr Rotax⚡️

Following 2 previous wins on the bounce, Myles was straight on the pace for Saturday practice; equalling the two other fastest drivers on circuit. Sunday came and he poled Qualifying being the only driver to post a sub-44 second lap time. Two further heat wins meant Myles started the main final on pole. On the start, he kept his position and with fast, consistent lap times whilst under pressure from a pushing Benny Chilton, he maintained a 5-6 kart length gap throughout the duration. The Force powered driver took the chequered flag to make it a full clean sweep and now 3 meetings in a row where he took the top step.

⚡️Harry Lamond – Snr Rotax⚡️

Having only turned up for Sundays race day it was always going to be a challenge for Harry but he soon found his usual pace. In qualifying Harry had issues with his brakes, nonetheless he still managed a P6 ranking. His heat positions were P4 and P3 which placed him on P4 for the main final. Unfortunately after taking too long passing another driver, the leading two karts pulled to big of a gap for Harry to contest for the win so he finished the final in P3 – a solid effort after missing practise the day before.

⚡️Lily Lamond – Snr Rotax⚡️

This was Lily’s first meeting in Senior Rotax and she didn’t let this deter her one bit. Throughout the weekend she took chunks of time off her PB and showed huge improvements in her race craft. She ended the weekend with a new personal best of 45.3 which is just the start, it won’t be long until she is battling amongst the mid pack.

⚡️Rocco Edwards – Jnr Rotax⚡️

Rocco struggled on Saturday’s practice due to his tyres being well past their use. Sunday came though and he put his kart on P11 out of 33 drivers. Rocco had two solid heats finishing in P7 and P8, this put him on P11 for the final. A sudden downpour resulted in a fast setup change to the kart and Rocco brought his kart home in P7 on track. A great drive in very challenging conditions.

A further mention to Matty Cook who was here for the Saturday testing with us in 177. This was his first time in the seat for nearly a year and it didn’t take him long to be straight on the pace and getting more and more confident each session out.
A big thanks go to Automated Analytics, Force Motorsport, P1 Power, the Marshalls and other officials.

P1 AND P2 IN SENIOR ROTAX

VAUS Motorsport headed to Fulbeck for Round 3 of the club championship with a strong line up of drivers across 3 classes including a new driver to the team in senior Rotax 162kg.

Harry Lamond

Timed Qualifying: A strong performance would see Harry qualify in P2 with a 44.14.
Heat 1: Harry would drop back a few places but battled through to challenge for P2 until a collision would see him drop back to P9 after penalties.
Heat 2: A solid start would see Harry charge through gaining 7 places to finish in P2.
Final: Starting in P2, a jump start would cost Harry a 5 sec penalty. Hot on the heels of teammate Myles, Harry would push his teammate for the next 15 laps; finishing in P2 with the fastest lap and a strong 16 second lead in front of the driver in P3.

Myles Dorn

Timed Qualifying: Myles would take pole position with a 44.0 to stamp his authority for the day.
Heat 1: A perfect lights to flag win also bagging the fastest lap of a 44.4.
Heat 2: Again, a solid start and a few changes to the set up would see Myles take the win by nearly 4 secs and gaining the fastest lap of 44.2.
Final: Starting the final in P1, a perfect start would see Myles lead the whole 16 lap race to claim his first victory. Consistent lap times and keeping a cool head under pressure meant he kept the lead from teammate Harry.

Mark Taylor

Timed Qualifying: Not an ideal track position would hinder Marks potential best time but still managed a 46.4.
Heat 1: A good strong heat would see Mark finish in P5 with a 46.3.
Heat 2: A scrapy race would see a Mark finish in P6 but still only a few tenths away from the leaders lap times.
Final: The combined results would see Mark start the Final in P6. A good close race for the final podium spot would continue for the entire 16 laps, less than 1.4 secs would split them. A great finish to a long race with a time of 46.4 so again, consistent and really feeling more confidant with these new tyres.

Lucas Bell

First time ever in a 2 stroke kart and first time ever at Fulbeck, Lucas made great progress on Saturday practice.

Timed Qualifying: Lucas qualified P12 from 18 on the grid. A great result in his first outing.
Heat 1: A first corner incident with other drivers would see Lucas drop back but battled through to finish in P12.
Heat 2: Another strong race would see Lucas up to P10 but after a nose cone would drop him back to P13.
Final: In P13, a great start would see Lucas charge through the field to finish in an incredible P6 from 18 drivers. In his first ever race and new to karting, the young 16-year-old is clearly one to watch for the future.

It’s been a long time coming for the win but it’s the journey getting here that makes it extra special for all the team. As always, big thanks to Automated Analytics, Julie all the Marshalls, Clive and the COC and the first aid team for putting on a great weekends racing.
See you all in May…

3 PODUIMS ACROSS 2 CLASSES

VAUS Motorsport headed to Fulbeck for Round 2 of the club championship with a strong line up of drivers across 3 classes.
Unpredictable weather made for some challenging conditions on Saturday. With the change in tyre regs for the Rotax 177kg class to Maxxis, this would add something extra for the drivers to think about with many finding it difficult to manage the lower grip levels.

💥Harry Lamond💥

Very quick in Saturday practise in both wet and dry conditions boosted Harry’s confidence for a great Sunday race day.

Heat 1: A racing incident on the first corner would see Harry drop back to finish in P11, however, posting the fastest lap of 44.4.
Heat 2. Starting from 6th, Harry finished in P1 also bagging the fastest lap of 44.3.
Heat 3: Starting 5th to finish in P3.
Final: Starting the final in P4, a messy start would see Harry drop back to P7. For the remainder of the race Harry pushed hard to come back and claim P3; matching the leaders winning time in the process.

💥Myles Dorn💥

Again, very quick on Saturday and quickest on Sunday 5 min warm up would set the scene for the Sunday race day.

Heat 1: Myles would start heat 1 on the outside on P2, a solid drive saw him bring it home in P2.
Heat 2: P6 start to finish in P3.
Heat 3: P7 start to make good overtakes and finish P4.
Final: Starting on P2, Myles made a great start to take an early lead, however a hard charging Ollie Goodyear was soon on his heels and by lap 6, took the lead. Myles then raced hard with his team mate to the flag securing P2.

A great weekend for the lads in Senior Max means that they are 1st and 2nd in the club championship going into the third round.

💥Mark Taylor💥

Mark has been making huge progress over the winter testing setting the pace on Saturday practise in the wet. A switch to the hard slower Maxxis tyres would prove a challenge for many drivers on the grid.

Heat 1: A P1 start would see Mark keep the lead for the opening laps to finish in P9
Heat 2: DNF
Heat 3: P12 start to finish in P8.
Final: A DNF on the opening lap was not the start planned but its all part of motorsport. More time planned in the background to work on this new tyre.

💥Rocco Edwards💥

New to the team, Rocco made continual progress throughout Saturday practise in both wet / dry conditions.

Heat 1: A P2 start would see Rocco maintain a top 5 slot for much of the race dropping to P11 as the race neared the end.
Heat 2: P14 to P24, heat 2 was a nightmare with water on the track causing carnage.
Heat3: A P23 start would see Rocco have a great race to climb 11 places, finishing P12.
Final: A P17 start would be a tough draw but Rocco battled through to finish in P13, with a time of 46.4 taking 1.3 sec off his times at the start of the day.
Great debut from the youngster. Under the close eye of team driver coach, Rocco will soon be pushing top 5 finishes.

💥Ben Hitch💥

Ben joined us as a guest driver for setup advice and coaching this weekend in preparation for events later in the year.

Heat 1: P4 to P9 after a few clashes with other drivers. Ben also posted the joint fastest lap of 46.0.
Heat 2: P11 to P4 great race and also matching the fastest lap again of 46.0.
Heat 3: P6 to finish in P3.
Final: A nose cone in heat 3 would drop Ben to start the A final in P8. After working his way through the field, Ben ended up in P3.
Bagging the fastest lap of the race with a time of 45.8, a few more laps would have deff seen Ben challenge for the win.

Final mention to Lils in the kart number 62 in Jnr Rotax, another big grid of 39 drivers and some pretty robust driving standards would see Lily having to battle through.
A new PB of 46.8 is a big step forward.

As always, big thanks to Julie, all the Marshalls and Clerks for putting on a great weekends racing.
See you all in April…

💥Double Podium in First Round at Fulbeck💥

Round 1 of the 2023 Fulbeck IKR Championship went off to a great start with all drivers setting PB laptimes and bagging heaps of championship points.

Myles Dorn

Myles was straight on the pace in Heat 1, setting a new PB of 43.94 and claiming 1st place. Heat 2 was one to forget with Myles getting tangled up in a racing incident; dropping him down to P10. This put him on P3 for the Final. After a great start, Myles pushed hard and swapped places with teammate Harry Lamond. Working together, they managed to gap the rest of the field he secured P2. A great weekend for Myles and a result he more than deserved after his unlucky result in January.

Harry Lamond

Harry pushed hard in Heat 1 and just like Myles set a new PB with a time of 43.92 – an achievement in itself for both of them to break the 44 second barrier. He finished this race in P3. Harry started Heat 2 in 8th, but made up 6 places with some great overtakes to finish P2. He did get a 5 second time penalty but thankfully down to his consistent pace he had a 6 second gap behind him – so Harry kept 2nd place. Harry was on Pole for the Final and kept the lead in the opening corner with teammate Myles following him through. Harry then lost first to Ollie Goodyear with Myles following him through into second. The teammates pushed hard all the way through with Harry getting onto the podium in P3.

A great weekend for the boys in Senior Max, their speed and racecraft is really starting to show improvement now. Congratulations to Ollie Goodyear on the win – great driving all day.

Mark Taylor

Mark showed great pace on Saturday, with him having a 1:1 on-track coaching session with Lucas Vaus. He set a new PB lap time and was the fastest throughout the day. Sunday came and Mark struggled to get into a rhythm. Heat 1 Mark started on Pole and finished in P4. Heat 2 Mark started 6th and made up 2 places to finish P4. For the final, Mark started on P4 and after a long final brought the kart home in a respectable 4th place. Mark was disappointed with this performance as he knows his true pace and potential. More testing and practise required, but the improvements made in such a short space of time is great to see from Mark.

A special mention as well to Lily (Harry’s sister) in Junior Max who battled hard throughout the weekend and is making progress every time out.

As always special thanks go out to Lee and Lewis at P1 Power and also all the club officials/marshalls for a great, well-run weekend of racing.
