Let’s play a little game!
Under the rule

“An attack constitutes and extension of the arm that continually threatens target”

Is this the person on the rights attack?
Our answer bellow

Lets run through the rule.
Have they extended there arm before the other fencer…..yes
Are they continually threatening target…. Not from there unless they throw it (which is against the rules)

A bit further if they were to move towards the opponent then they would only gain right of way when they could reasonably hit the target with there next forward movement.
IF the person on the left were to extend their arm and move forward it would be the fencer who could hit the target with there next FORWARD movement FIRST that would gain priority. This will not necessarily be the fencer on the right.
