About time we had a round up 😊💛💙

The final race in our Inter Club Championship with Blackburn Road Runners, Trawden AC and Riversway was on 1st September. It’s been a fantastic series which all the team enjoyed racing in 😁 ARR men’s team won the series and ARR 2nd team overall 👏👏

The day after was a rainy ☔️ Accrington 5k race. Liam and Alex ran the race with Alex finishing in 4th place 👏

Janet and El President Peter ran the Clowbridge 5k, even though it’s only a couple of miles from Altham they avoided the rain altogether 🤷‍♀️

Dave K and Joe ran the Hades Hill Fell Race, a tough up and down race. They deserved a pint after 👏

Sunday came the Darwen Tough 10k, we had 9 runners take part (which they may have regretted when the heavens opened 10 mins after they set off 🌧️ 😂 ) Helen K was 2nd female finisher with Jennie 3rd 👏 Adrian won his age category 🙌 Rowan smashed out a 10k PB 👏 we also won the team prizes 👏👏 well done to everyone 👏❤️

And let’s not forget our amazing Hyndburn Parkrun takeover on Saturday 💛💙 many thanks to all the members who volunteered, Karen and Paul for organising us all, Hyndburn Parkrun for allowing us to take over and to 175 runners and walkers who turned up and took part 😊

There’s been a change to our next Accrington Road Runners Trail Points Race!

With no ARR runners currently booked for the Lakeland Maize Half Marathon on Saturday 19th September, we’ve decided to move our next points race forward to:

📅 Thursday 17th September
🏃 Clowbridge 5K Autumn Race
📍 Clowbridge Reservoir
⏰ 7pm

This is always a well-attended race by Accrington Road Runners, so it should be a great night out and a good chance to pick up some valuable Trail Points! 🏆

What a lovely morning for the Accrington Road Runners team at Hyndburn parkrun yesterday! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We had around 40 fantastic volunteers supporting the event and helping to look after everyone. A massive thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday morning to help out — you were brilliant! 💙💛

And with that done, our attention turns to our own Accrington Road Runners 10k & Family Race which is now only 4 weeks away! 😍

We’re not just holding our 10K race on Sunday 4th October… there’s a junior race too! 🎉👧🧒

The junior race will take place shortly after the main race gets underway, so why not get the kids race-ready with a bit of training this weekend? 💪

🌳 The Woodlands junior parkrun takes place this Sunday in Clayton — the perfect chance for the little ones to get some miles in, have fun and practise their racing skills! 😃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Who knows… we might see some of them back at the Accrington Road Runners Junior Race on 4th October! 🏅💙💛

The usual volunteers and marshals are having a well-deserved week off, so it’s our turn to take over! 😀🙌

We’ll have loads of our members around the course, cheering you on and helping you around 💪❤️
