It's been a long and complicated journey but I'm pleased to announce that today Debbie Bowles & Pam Jarvis have taken over Georgie's Coffee House & Wine Bar in Hinchley Wood.

Georgie's has been closed since early November so there is a lot to do before we can open to serve Take Away meals & drinks and whilst we have lots of plans for the future we're really eager to open as soon as possible

Renovations etc will start at a later stage. We will have a website & social media for Georgie's but like the deep clean it will take a few days to get it up and running. During that time we will keep you updated on the Ashes Cafe fb page

Maybe not the best time economically to take over a cafe but we're so excited to actually get started and we look forward to serving delicious homemade meals & refreshments to you all (in compliance with Covid-19 restrictions of course)

It's been exactly 5 months since our last post and what a strange 5 months it has been!!
We wish Debbie Frost Tuffen as speedy a recovery as possible from her accident/injury 💖
We mentioned some exciting news to be released by Debbie Bowles & Pam Jarvis - we didn't think the wait would run into months rather than weeks!! But we are very close and may even be able to say more next week.....🤞🤞🤞

We've missed all our lovely customers over the months and hope you're staying safe, well and sane.

Congratulations to Pistachio in the Park for winning the tender to run the cafe in the clubhouse once the rebuild is complete. As others have commented - it's a shame it didn't go to a local business but hopefully they will employ local residents to help run it. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating & drinking but I doubt they'll better our cricket teas especially considering our limited equipment, space etc etc :)

We've all been kept busy - even during lockdown. Debbie Frost Tuffen is back walking dogs ( Dog Walking & Animal Care). Debbie Bowles & Pam Jarvis have both been busy with their other commitments AND also hope to have some exciting news to share with you all. Sorry though - for the next few weeks you're gonna have to wait patiently.....

Well... that's it from The Ashes Cafe as the builders now take over Claygate Cricket Club's portacabins.
Thank you to all our lovely customers who came out yesterday morning to support us before we closed for the big clear out.

We do have quite a bit of stock of soft drinks left so if you're looking for a bargain then do get in touch 🙂

What will happen when the cricket season starts and the clubhouse isn't quite completed? We'd need a crystal ball to answer that!! 😂
But at least the rebuild is due to start which is what we all want so very much.
The Ashes Cafe did tender for running the new cafe in the clubhouse but sadly we didn't make the final cut 😢

SO....... it's "over & out" from Pam, the 2 Debbie's and the rest of the team 👋😘
