Clacton Juniors Shine at Norman Garon Trust Celebration Event

Louie Brewer, Vince Chung, Charlie Beasley & Coco Locke were honoured today at the Norman Garon Trust Celebration Event held at Garon Park Golf Club, following outstanding performances throughout the Essex Junior Open Order of Merit season.

🥇 Louie Brewer – 1st U18 Boys Stableford
🥈 Vince Chung – Joint 2nd U14 Boys Stableford
🥈 Charlie Beasley – Joint 2nd U14 Boys Stableford
🥈 Coco Locke – 2nd Girls Division

The success continued at today’s event, with Louie winning the U18 Boys Scratch competition with a superb gross 72, while Coco claimed one of the Nearest the Pin prizes.

A sincere thank you to the Norman Garon Trust for its generous support of this event. Special thanks also go to the entire Essex Golf team, particularly Lawrence, Brian, Kevin, Andy, Ruth and all the volunteers, whose hard work, dedication and commitment throughout the season make these outstanding opportunities possible for our juniors.

Jason Moss Interclub Junior Competition 2026

What a fantastic day we had hosting our annual Jason Moss Interclub Junior Competition at Clacton Golf Club today.

A total of 40 juniors took part, representing five clubs; Clacton, Colchester, Frinton Links, Gosfield Lake and The Essex. With teams of eight players from each club, the course was buzzing with excitement, laughter and great golf throughout the day.

Nearest the Pins Winners;
2nd Hole – Vince Chung (played for Frinton Links)
5th Hole – Jacob Heath (Colchester)
7th Hole – Hadley Stringer (Frinton Links), who also recorded his first Hole-in-One
15th Hole – Monty Malone (The Essex)
17th Hole – George Feighery (Clacton)

Best Gross Score;
Hadley Stringer (Frinton Links) – 68 Gross

Best Stableford Scores;
George Feighery (Clacton) – 41 points
Daniel Copper (The Essex) – 39 points
Vince Chung (played for Frinton Links) – 38 points

Team Results;
Frinton Links – 182 points
Colchester – 180 points (on countback)
Clacton – 180 points
Both Gosfield Lake and The Essex had 175 points

Clacton Juniors have continued their winning form.
Louie Brewer & Vince Chung were back in the winner’s circle at the Chelmsford Junior Open today.

🥇 Louie Brewer finished 1st in the U18 Boys Stableford with an impressive 41 points (72 Gross).

🥇 Vince Chung finished 1st in the U14 Boys Stableford with a fantastic 40 points (81 Gross).

Huge congratulations to both boys on another outstanding achievement. A fantastic representation of Clacton Juniors and the club 👏🏼🏆⛳️

What a fantastic day at Jonnie Down Junior Captain’s Day!

A full field of 24 adults & 24 juniors took part in a fun team event, with teams made up of 2 adults & 2 juniors. The weather was kind and it was wonderful to see golfers of all ages enjoying the day together.

Our juniors enjoyed a fantastic day at home Junior Open yesterday, with all 6 players producing excellent performances and 3 division winners.

Louie Brewer won the U18 Boys Stableford Division with 41 points (75 gross), while Coco Locke topped the Girls Stableford Division with 36 points (83 gross) and Vince Chung won the U14 Boys Stableford Division on countback with 36 points (88 gross).

Max Heffer finished runner-up in the U18 Boys Stableford Division with 38 points (84 gross), while Charlie Heffer scored 36 points and Charlie Beasley added 35 points to complete a superb team effort.

A brilliant day for Clacton Junior Golf and a great reflection of the hard work and dedication shown by all 6 players. Well done to everyone involved 👏🏼🏆⛳️🌟
