East Coast Rod Builds & Repairs is a recently established business that offers anything from a simple repair to a complete strip and re-build or new build of your fishing rod(s) Since then I have done many different types of fishing and pursued many species of fish but since the early 90’s I have mainly targeted predatory fish. During the latter part of the 90’s I decided to concentrate on Wels Cat fish but at the time could not find a rod I considered suitable for the UK cats. Drawing on my engineering background I decided to build my own set of cat rods as I specifically wanted a rod with a tip to butt ‘through’ action that had a strong backbone to handle the long powerful lunging runs. My good friends at Clacton Angling were so impressed with the quality and finish of the rods, they asked me if I would be willing to do the repairs and rebuilds so that they could extend on the great service and wide range of products that they already provide their customers. I jumped at the opportunity and since that day I have whipped, stripped, varnished and re-built rods ranging from the most delicate match and feeder rod to the most powerful long distance tournament casting rods, bringing the blanks back to their original shop condition for customers who believed they were beyond repair. I offer that personal custom build to YOUR specification and can provide custom built stainless steel butt caps, collars and rings for that special finishing touch.
