PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
Clacton Town Football Club Announces Partnership with Clacton Mariners FC public
Clacton Town Football Club is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Clacton Mariners FC, a dedicated inclusive football club committed to providing opportunities for players of all abilities across Essex.
Established in March 2024, Clacton Mariners FC was formed to support players with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental health needs through football, fitness, and community engagement. Competing in the Essex Soccability League, the club operates as an open-age pan-disability side with a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing, and personal development.
This new partnership represents a shared commitment between both clubs to make football accessible for everyone while creating a stronger, more connected football community within Clacton and the wider Essex area.
Through the partnership, both clubs aim to:
* Promote inclusive football opportunities for players of all abilities
* Support physical and mental wellbeing through sport
* Encourage community participation and social inclusion
* Create development pathways and opportunities within local football
* Raise awareness of disability football and inclusive sport across Essex
* Share resources, facilities, and community initiatives.
The collaboration highlights Clacton Town Football Club’s commitment to supporting inclusive football and strengthening opportunities within the local community, both on and off the pitch.
Jon Willis (Clacton Town) said:
“We are incredibly proud to be partnering with Clacton Mariners FC and supporting the outstanding work they are doing within the community. Football should be accessible to everyone, and this partnership is about creating opportunities, improving wellbeing, and ensuring players of all abilities feel welcomed, valued, and supported.”
Clacton Mariners FC has already made a significant impact since its formation, providing a safe, positive, and encouraging environment where players can enjoy football, improve fitness, build confidence, and develop lasting friendships.
Both clubs are excited to begin this partnership and look forward to working together on future initiatives, events, and opportunities that will benefit players, families, and the wider community for years to come.
