For me, this sums up everything that we are about at the Frank Webb Goalkeeper Academy 🩵
Our goalkeeper, Eden, had a JPL Cup Final in the Midlands today for Chelsea against West Ham. After coaching late last night, I couldn’t make the 8 hour round trip this morning, but someone who lives much closer and wanted to support was my mum.
We aren’t another big training corporation where your child is just a number. I know all 60+ of my goalkeepers as individuals on a personal level. I know exactly how to get the best out of each and every one of them, the majority of whom even have their own unique nicknames with us. Likewise, I know all of my goalkeepers parents, and I’m always on hand to support them. The longest they ever have to wait for a reply from me is an hour or two, no matter the time of day.
I’ve been told a thousand times that I should expand, take on more goalkeepers, and open more venues. All of which are very much possible, but at what cost? To thinly spread myself and not be able to provide the same in depth, personal service.
Whilst I can’t promise I’ll be able to send my mum to all of my goalkeepers games, I can promise that our core values will never change.
