What a mad session. August 26th to 28th 2026.
Alton Water, Suffolk.
Went 12 hours without a bite, then boom. Absolute madness
for the next 36 hours. Had to bring my rods in for 3 hours each night, just to
get some rest.
34 lumpy slabs in total.
Full Moon, Air Pressure 1009. Wind changeable but gently dropping to nothing.
A predicted lightning storm, which fortunately stayed about 10 miles away.

Interesting 24 hours on Ten Mile Bank.
My target was the tench, rudd, and maybe a carp.
Instead, I managed 22 bream, and some very small ones, although I did
manage to snare a couple of proper ones during darkness.
I learnt a lot while I was there, especially around bait choice and where to
fish in the river. I will return and get it right next time.
Hope you enjoy this little excursion.

Alton heatwave…
Link in Comments.
This week, July 8th, found me back over Alton, with Gaz for company.
With day temps of 30c and night temps 23c, we were expecting it to be a challenge.
Nothing could be further from reality. For sure, it took a while to get the bream feeding, but we did. To top it off, Gaz had a PB bream of 10lb 14oz… his previous best 8lb.
Interestingly, there was no specific time when they fed, day, night, evening and morning were all productive. When you consider the conditions, this was unexpected.
By the way, this is a long video. I hope you enjoy what we have to offer up this week.
Anyways, enough chat. Don’t forget to like, subscribe and ask any questions.
Tight Lines one and all, Gaz and Steve
