Evening people.
I got told off the other day that I don’t keep my page up to date !!

Well from now on I’m going to try harder.

And we also have an instagram account for the lake so that’s going to get some new posts.

Keep your eyes peeled, I’m going to inundate you with so much stuff your phone’s going to go šŸ’„šŸ’„.

Cheers Russ.

Morning. The gang from netherwood will be here on Saturday trying to sell some of the excess fishing gear we have acquired over the years.
Come and say hello, or if you have any questions about the venue feel free to come and ask.

I have no idea how you will find us šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø but if you see Martin salter from the reading club he will point us out.

I’m the good looking shorter bloke with the tall skinny bloke with the ginger goaty beard.

See you all there.
Russ.

Evening, I probably don’t post as much as I should, but that’s probably because I find most fisheries posts to be a boring compilation of fat carp, here at Netherwood we try to provide the angler with a venue that he can fish and gain lasting memories.

Memories that might consist of a new PB tench, or a huge carp that tested a new rod to its limits, it could even be the side splitting laughter over dinner in the lodge.

Remember life’s a journey, it’s not all about the destination.

Below is a post I’ve just copied from a group of anglers who fished with us last week, unfortunately it was posted in a closed group so the link I posted could not be viewed.

Have a read I hope it gives you an insight into what we are trying to do here.

Cheers Russ.

My trip to Netherwood lakes by Matthew Tanner

Netherwood Lakes 12-18th June 26

I consider myself fortunate to have some good friends to fish with. Since being with The Crabtree Society I've fished all over Britain from Devon to Yorkshire and even the most Nostalgic of them all (Redmire Pool).

Redmire has always remained my favourite place to fish BUT now it has a comparison. Netherwood Lakes is a very well run fishery. It's also set up well with wild flowers spread everywhere, extremely tidy swims that aren't taking anything away from the looks of the place. There are a mix of species including Roach, Rudd, Perch, Crucian, Tench and Carp to 35lb+

Netherwood has a charm all of it's own. It also has a very comfortable lodge with everything you could need including a nice hot shower.

Russell Griffiths and his wife Loraine both work tirelessly at the fishery and go out of their ways to make everyone that fishes there comfortable. I'd like to thank them both publicly for making us all welcome and for looking after us in the way they did. I loved my stay and didn't want to leave.

I leave you with an aray of photographs from our trip..........

Tony beat me in the crucian match on June 16th (well done Tony) he won the coverted Graeme Beddow trophy in the form of a float crafted only the way Graham can. šŸ˜‰

Geoff Ray deserved a trophy for landing a 26lb Mirror carp on tench tackle 6lb breaking strain line

The biggest trophy should go to Russell and Loraine. You've got everything right at the best fishery I've ever had the honour to fish. Thanks both of you. And Thanks Graham Clay for inviting me along. I loved every minute of it.

During the week Hugh miles was here, Phil Spinks from angling direct popped in just to see how Hugh was doing.

With an invitation from Hugh to get his rods out, Phil wasted no time at all in finding a couple of spots and getting in on the action.

Simple tactics and keeping the bait going in seemed to work well, the bites kept coming and Phil’s bobbins were constantly on the move.

Check out Phil’s video linked below.

Last week I had the absolute honour of having the famous film maker and creator of ā€œPassion for Anglingā€ Hugh Miles, visit the fishery. Hugh was targeting the tench and crucians and didn’t have much trouble locating them !
Hugh has fallen in love with Netherwood and will be back next year.

A good friend of ours came down for a quick 24 hour session a couple of weeks ago and managed to wangle a few cracking fish out.

Steve ended up with 4 nice carp his best going a couple of ounces over 30lb,
which was nice in a couple of ways, it was Steve’s new PB and also another new 30 for the lake.
His others included a 29lb 12 oz common a 25lb heavily scaled mirror and another 18lb mirror.

He also added a couple of nice tench around the 5-6lb mark which seems to be the average for the tench this year.

Well done stevie boy see you soon.
( there’s no pic of the thirty as we took them in the night and did a right rubbish job with his new camera )
