Thank you to everyone for all your kind comments on my last post. It means a lot to me. Here's an interesting photo for you, it is the ONLY trout I have ever caught out of Lechlade. Make of that what you want!

Happy New Year to you all. Please note both the fisheries, including Bushyleaze, will shut after this Sunday 5th January for a while. I hope that soon we will hear what the EA have in store regards their proposed Abstraction reforms for the farm and I will get some progress with the planners to set up some sort of diversification for those months when we are closed due to excessive summer water temperatures. I could also do with a bit of a rest after 51 years at this! I've also got some tree cutting to do! Thanks for all your support.

Floods just beginning to recede now but you will still need wellies. There are areas in the car park that are not under water. Anglers all bagged up today on Damsels.

Bushyleaze is very flooded with the road and car park under a foot of water. It is probably best to wait a few days but if you do come you will definitely need wellies/waders.

Has anyone who fished Bushy in the last few days found an antler and steel priest, probably up in the woods? It has great sentimental value to the owner. Please get in touch if you know anything. Many thanks.

Please note, If you are planning to fish Bushyleaze tomorrow, 15th November, you will need to book in by 1045 as we have a funeral to go to after that for the rest of the day. Thanks.

Not that busy for our first week open at Bushyleaze, the weather (and forecasts) didn't help that much but almost everyone bagged up who came. Dry Daddies on sunny days, damsels the rest of the time. Hope to see some of you at the weekend. Catch and Release tickets available.

We hope to see plenty of you back after this gap. We will be doing our Catch and Release ticket from the start. Prices are the same as last year apart from the 6 fish ticket that goes up to £55.

Despite the water temperatures being reasonable and fish well spread out and feeding, Bushyleaze will close for the summer on 1st August. Also, please note that for a variety of reasons that Lechlade will NOT be open for Day Ticket fishing this year. My apologies. We will still be doing tuition on Summerleaze.

The recent cold nights have brought the lake temperatures right down. The fish at Bushyleaze are well spread out and taking buzzers and olives. There are lots of 4 to 6 pound fish appearing. Make the most of it (especially those with vouchers) as I suspect temperatures will go up again soon and that will be it for the summer.

It can be done though, Les Thomas had this 8 pound Brownie yesterday on a nymph but it was hard work. Remember you can have an all day 2 fish Lechlade ticket and convert that to a 6 fish Bushyleaze ticket if the fish aren't playing. The cold nights recently have brought the water temperatures right down and most of the fish in Bushy are now well spread out with only a few hanging out under the trees in the wooded area.
