I teach the kind of class I once needed myself (and still do, on those days when doubt creeps in).
After 8 years of teaching and practising SUP yoga, I’ve learned the struggle isn’t really with the pose, it’s with ourselves.
The fear of falling in.
The need to get it right.
The urge to control every wobble.
The voice that whispers, “you’re not good enough” if you sit instead of stand.
The quiet thought that maybe… we don’t belong here because {fill in the blank}.
But here’s the truth: you do belong and you are enough. You’ll be welcomed like an old friend.
Many of the original SUP yogis still return and they’ll cheer you on, show you the ropes, and remind you you’re not alone.
Today’s class was everything I love about this practice: part flow, part laughter, part conversations drifting across the water. As one yogi said afterwards:
✨ “The secret, Alice, is to surround yourself with people who make your heart smile. It’s then, only then, that you’ll find Wonderland.” ✨
And maybe that’s what belonging really feels like. 💙
There’s just next weekend left to the season. Would be lovely to see you.
Much love xx
