Finally we have been able to get back out and compete and school after the busy and hot Summer we have had.
Molly and Dory had a fun and successful outing today at Hunters dressage scoring a respectable 65.something %. It was lovely to see such a happy and relaxed combination particularly as Molly has never ridden a test on Dory before.
Scarlet made use of the rain and better ground conditions to take Homer xc Davina Etherington-Smith ahead of Gatcombe next weekend and Rectory Farm Arena to practice showjumping.
Along with all the usual activities at Greenhill we are managing to shoehorn in a big Groundworks project of replacing the floor in the main yard barn this coming week. There will be a fairly significant amount of disruption to the usual daily workings of the yard so please be patient and if you are coming to ride be aware of the plant machinery and find a staff member for guidance on where to go.

Happy Friyay everyone.
Today was a big gathering and an even bigger delicious chicken Caesar salad.
We say goodbye to Scarlett minor who has done an amazing job this Summer working with us. Thank you Scarlett and enjoy the next term of Uni.
We have three newbies joining us in September and October so watch this space for the introduction and I am sure you will meet them soon.

We are on our seasonal hunt for reliable, professional part time workers who have worked with horses before and are not afraid to get stuck in.
You must be available on a Sunday and take instruction and direction well.
This is a secure and well paid winter position and would suit a freelancer who needs more hours or a student at the RAU or Hartpury who needs to financially supplement their course or accommodation charges. You will be working with a good team on the closed day of the week to take care of liveries and horses living out.
You absolutely must be reliable. Preference is given to those who stay for the winter and can work a new year or Christmas rota.

Our first two hour hack of the Autumn is on Sunday 4th October at 11am.
Come and join us for a jolly on home ground in Cirencester Park. We will explore the woodland tracks and grassy rides.
This is for advanced riders only and the cost is £140 including all refreshments on return.
To book please message or email. If you haven’t ridden with us before you will need to book an assessment lesson. We have a 13.5 stone weight limit.

Come and join us for a hack at 11am on Friday 4th.
We have three spaces for intermediate riders for an hour in Cirencester Park.
We also have two spaces for an adult class lesson at 11.15.
Don’t forget to get your Saturday bookings in. We have a few spaces in the 12pm capable novice children’s lesson.

A big thank you to all our friends and clients of Greenhill for visiting us and making it a bumper Summer.
At the beginning of August we had a fabulous Summer camp welcoming 22 children for three days, followed by weekly pony mornings. Our jump clubs were popular each week and our hacking was of course second to none as we are based in Cirencester Park.
Eventing took a back seat for everyone due to very hard ground conditions and we always put the horses welfare first and think long term, so arena work only and a pause on cross country.
Finally the rain arrived and the little green tips of grass are are poking through, it is hopefully going to be a better Autumn for the ground and will also mean we can extend the grazing period into the winter.
Our lessons for the new term start this week after school so please email to check you have your space. Regulars have been emailed but if you are not booking your months slots then we cannot guarantee your place.
Daily adult lessons from 9am - 12pm with Nathalie are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with a few slots left this month.
Please note we will be closed on Wednesdays and Sundays for lessons from mid September.
Hacking is on Tuesday and Friday at 11am for intermediate riders.

Homer is a dab hand at the 20m front crawl. He seems to have mastered the art well. Nolan did not want to put his water wings on today so he had a good look around and went for a hack instead!
Continuing hard ground means the need to find a less physically impactful activity is crucial for joint and muscle health.
Thanks to the team for their expert care swimming the horses.
