Hello everyone!

Here we are in November already - how did that happen?!

In last month's newsletter, I gave you a snapshot of my weekly training plan, which helps keep me fit, calm and happy. I hope it helped you tune in to your own level of activity in order to create a realistic personal program.

I hope everyone is well and thriving, as we enjoy another few days of beautiful October weather.

Last month, I suggested planning ahead to prioritise your fitness/wellbeing by integrating these four essential components into the week ahead:

🚶🏼‍♀️Walk
🏋️Strength
🧘🏼‍♀️Stretch
🤸🏻Balance

I thought it might be helpful to show you my weekly plan. Rarely do I deviate from this routine and I depend upon it to keep me fit, calm and happy.

😀 Monday
7am open air pool - 30 minute swim and stretch
45 minute dog walk in nature

😀 Tuesday
8am gym
1 hour stretch and strength training using TRX and free weights
45 minute dog walk in nature

😀 Wednesday
7am open air pool - 30 minute swim and stretch
45 minute dog walk in nature
6pm Hot Yoga/Vinyasa

😀 Thursday
7am open air pool - 30 minute swim and stretch
45 minute dog walk in nature

😀 Friday
7am open air pool - 30 minute swim
45 minute dog walk in nature

😀 Saturday
8am gym
1 hour stretch and strength training using TRX and free weights
45 minute dog walk in nature

😀 Sunday
Long dog walk in the woods and coffee:)

SEPTEMBER TOP TIPS🍂

I find this time of year is always a meaningful opportunity to refocus an intention towards yourself and carve out dedicated physical training time in your weekly diary.

Here are my recommendations to help you create a fresh schedule:

Firstly, set your intention and fill your diary/calendar with chosen workout blocks for the week ahead.
Set them to 'repeat every week'.🗓️

Walk • Strengthen • Stretch• Balance

Get outside and WALK EVERY DAY🌿

Mood follows action. Even if it's 10 minutes, this is a non negotiable. Walking will lift your mood, relax your body and help you process your thoughts. Even if it means getting up half an hour earlier, please walk first thing to start your day with a clear head and calm body. The reward lies in the positive impact this will have on your mood and productivity throughout the day ahead.

STRENGTH TRAINING💪🏼 - minimum twice a week.

Increased muscle mass helps fire up the metabolism to manage body fat, plus builds physical and mental resilience.
Lifting load, be that body weight and/or weights, strengthens bones and protects against osteoporosis.
It also builds self confidence and strengthens the mind.
Do hard stuff and resist the urge to take soft options.

BE strong.

STRETCH 🙆 - mobilising your joints daily and stretching your nerves and muscles not only feels good but develops and maintains a freedom of movement, aids post-workout recovery and prevents risk of injury.
If ignored, a rigid body will compromise your quality of life further down the line. Try one of my Stretch classes to feel great.

N.B. Stretching is a priority, not an afterthought.

BALANCE🦵🏼- incorporating single leg balance work triggers deep lying muscles to fire up to execute a movement.
Not only does balance work help connect to the breath and improve mental focus, but as we age, balance becomes critical to our future safety, so practising now will pay dividends.

Hello TBT gang! 😃

I hope you are all keeping well and perhaps looking forward to a holiday this summer.

I'm just back from a wonderful family fortnight in Turkey 🇹🇷 with daily morning swims, hikes, a blissful yoga class by the sea and hilarious waterskiing after a 23 year break! There was plenty of lying around and eating delicious food too and we all feel better for taking the time out.
That said, we are grateful to be back in one piece, as the taxi drivers are bonkers!

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all keeping well and enjoyed a splendid Bank Holiday weekend in the sunshine.

This past month has been a tricky one for me personally, as my lovely mum suffered two strokes, a heart scare, plus Covid. I am delighted to say that she is recovering well, however, in order to make myself fully available for her, I have made the decision to permanently replace our weekly ‘Live’ classes with pre-recorded workouts.

Live classes fans, don't worry! 😃

The classes are still set to start at the allotted Monday 9.30am HIIT and
Wednesday 9.30am TBT time slots

Happy Easter!!! 💫🌸🐣

Hello everyone and hello April!

I hope you are looking after yourselves and took the time to reassess your training week and re-balance your wellbeing.

Many of you have a dedicated weekly routine of exercise, which is certainly the most successful route to maintaining physical fitness and mental calm. That said, if life throws you a curve ball and you miss a session, cut yourself some slack and jump back in when you can. Training to look after your body and mind is a longterm life choice, not a quick fix.

This week, I had a family emergency and was unable to teach my Live classes, so apologies to my regulars, however, you need never need miss a workout with an awesome choice of 300+ class recordings via the TBT On Demand platform.

If you follow me on social media, you may have noticed I haven't been posting recently. This is because my Instagram account was hacked! You can still see everything from your end, but I can no longer post TBT content.
