We also have some exciting new planned through the build up to the MHA Palace Shield Cricket Competition about the development of the club. It’s an exciting time to be involved at Mossie Close.

A fantastic night last night at Ribby Hall where Second Team skipper Colin Scales picked up the Carr Trophy for winning the Palace Shield Cricket Competition Division 6.

The skipper also collected the Division Bowling trophy on behalf of Adil Secretary, who took 30 wickets for an average of 3.77.

As plans for 2025 start to take shape, we look back at the season just gone and celebrate the leaders in all our sides.

Today we look at the Sunday team, who were led with bat and ball by Ash Patel.

Last weekend was another double win weekend on the Saturday. The Seconds win over Garstang 3rds secured the 2024 Division 6 title and an inmediate return to Division 5 (it will be named D6 next year due to restructure).

The Firsts victory secured their place off the bottom of the division, and they will continue in 1B (being renamed Division 2 next year), and build on the lessons from this season.

We have some exciting projects behind the scenes, and look to post more following our AGM in October.

A double delight on Saturday as both teams took home wins.

The 1sts ground out victory on a difficult Ingol pitch thanks to some solid efforts with the bat including James Dickinson scoring 30. David Bath shone with the ball, to complete a fine team win as the 1st look to finish a tough season strong.

The 2nds are now one win away from securing immediate promotion back to D5. Two five wicket halls from Adil Secretary and Mark “Ziggy” Mitchell saw Charnock set just 30 to win, which was done in just over 5 overs.

The Sunday team were due to play, but succumbed to the rain.

Two big events at the club this weekend. A fundraiser on Saturday and our annual Charity Day on Sunday, including the unveiling of a Memorial Bench to Taz, who we sadly lost last year.

Tickets are available on the door for Saturday, but advanced notice would help with catering.

The Firsts lifted themselves off the bottom of the league this week by beating Preston CC in a strong all round performance.

The Seconds heading to Kirkham where they finished phase one of Division 6 in style, and now sit a point off the promotion places.

The Sunday Team struggled at home to Preston Royals in what has been a stop start season for them.

This week, the 1sts get reacquainted with Grimsargh Cricket Club at Mossie Close, looking to turn their fortunes around.

The 2nds head to Hesketh Bank Cricket Club looking to cement a place in the top half of the table ahead of the next phase of D6.
