The first of two cracking bits of news to end the week is the re-signing of Tommy Reed.

Tommy is another player who will hopefully reach centurion status this coming season. He had one of his most consistent seasons in 2025/26, answering the call to play out of position on numerous occasions without a moment’s hesitation.

His fearless defence and elusive running style make him a key asset for the team as does on and off field leadership.

He also fulfills the vital role of providing beer and pizza socials at his open water swimming lake!

There is a rumour that his luxurious mane of flowing hair may not be returning for the new season but there is no chance of his strengths diminishing….

A true Chobham boy, loved by fellow players and spectators alike.

Tommy commented, “ Super excited to get back to it with Chobham for another season. It feels like we have built a great group that are more than capable of competing at the top end this season 💪”.

Off the back of a cracking 2025/2026 season, our Cannons group return in September with ambitions of title honours in the competitive Surrey Alliance league.

The league expands from 10 to 12 clubs with the addition of friends old and new in London Irish, Old Tiffs and London Cornish.

It promises to be another belter of a season. This team and this league offer a cracking balance of tough competitive rugby and a lot of laughs. If you fancy a bit of that get in touch!

To finish a week of sublime good news, the first of two epic re-signings. Another soon to be centurion and all round Chobham good egg - Sam Davies

Sam is a key cog in the Chobham backline machine as well as our own goal kicking version of Zoe Harrison just with slightly worse hair.

His leadership and communication skills are second to none and he’s played a huge part in driving the standards in the group and being the coaches’ on field presence.

We can’t wait to see him pull the strings again this season. We’re lucky to have him…

Sam commented, “Buzzing to be staying at Chobham for another season. After not getting as much time on the paddock as I’d have liked in the second half of last year due to injury, I’m itching to get back out there with the lads.

We’ve got a brilliant coaching group and a great bunch of boys, which makes it a special place to be. Can’t wait to rip in, get stuck into pre-season, and see what we can achieve together this year. ❤️🧡.”
