What a day we had yesterday for the Chittlehampton FC Memorial Match 🤩

An amazing 400 people gathered to watch Chittlehampton Firsts take on a Chittlehampton Legends XI in glorious sunshine - with more than 40 players turning up for the game too!

The match was an even encounter, with the Legends rolling back the years taking the Firsts by surprise in the first half. A defence with a combined age of around 180 kept the first team’s attack frustrated, and some lovely midfield play by Bubba Sparks and Stan took us back to 2005 🐍

0-0 at half time, plenty of changes were made and the Firsts took a lead through tidy finishes from Louis Roberts and Kyran Jones, but the Legends hit back in the last 5 minutes with rockets from Ross Williams and Ryan Elston, who swapped teams in honour of his dad ❤️

Straight to pens, the Firsts won the shootout 4-2; Kyran missing for the firsts, and Mark Heale and Richie Waltz unsuccessful for the Legends.

But the result didn’t matter - it was simply awesome for so many former and current players to come together, all the while raising money for memorial benches and the children’s play area at the village hall.

Thanks to everyone who came and supported, thanks to all the players for making it an awesome spectacle, and thanks to those who helped organize the day - it was a massive success that wouldn’t have been possible without you!!

GAME DAY

In what will be the last game at The Chittle Bowl for a while, we host Chittlehampton 11 vs Chittlehampton Legends, 3pm kick off.

It’s a glorious day, we have food with Frisky Pheasant & a bar from The Bell, Kids games etc.

All proceeds going towards Chittlehampton Play area & the football club.

We have a raffle with 80+ prizes kindly donated from amazing businesses across North Devon.

Bar open from 2 o’clock.

£2 entry, £5 raffle tickets, cash only 😊.

12 farmers from Chittlehampton went down to deepest darkest Cornwall to play 14 farmers from Kilkhampton. A very agricultural game played in very competitive spirit, 1-1 until the very last, when the Chittle centre midfielders large arse, deflected a Kilkhampton shot passed the Chittlehampton goalkeeper. Kilkhampton centre forward with miss of the season shortly after.

A hard one to take but Kilkhampton a very good side, with a hell of a future.

Ciaron Lishman Chittles man of the match, came of at 2-0 down after 80 mins then they went on to win 5-0.

Good game fair contest, the boys are currently in spoons.
