During November BLBC will be raising money for Movember! This is a brilliant charity that focuses on mental health and su***de, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Both boys and girls in our club will be participating by either growing/ trying to grow a moustache or getting active and farming some watts...

This month is pivotal in their fundraising, and any donations would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

BLBC Meet The Committee.
Social secretaries: Ema doubravova, Louis F Mac

After a powerful speech at AGM and a very moving photo, these two are undoubtedly going to provide some brilliant tables and socials. The dynamic of the team means that whenever Louis disappears to participate in his other front of griff commitments, Ema will be able to run the games, and when Ema is found once again intertwined in the other clubs, Louis can cover.

Louis is a corner shop connoisseur and BLBC powerhouse. Since starting he has been known by many names, and haircuts…. If you are searching for Louis word has it he is currently repping the bleach blonde trim.

Ema has had a big commitment to socials both in the UK and internationally. Budapest clubbing was one the highlights of her Barts experience. Truth be told I highly doubt Ema even realised she was in Budapest for most of it.

Woman’s Captain: Nandini Rawat

Since Nandinis migration over to UH she has become a very hardcore and dedicated rower. This not only applies for her training but also her social engagement and pure partying seen especially at events such as UH bumps. This year she is going to lead the girls and continue to express her uncontrollable love of the coconuty concoction.

Mens Captain: Patrick Ellis

Patrick rowed before university and his experience is sure to be invaluable at helping the mens squad conquer. Unfortunately for Patrick and his ex-team, we were able to beat them at Head of The River Race (HORR) this year. Patrick also has a keen interest in cycling and rumours are he often forgets to charge his gears so expect a steady ride in first.

Equipment Officers: Alicia Lim, Rizwan Hameed.

Alicia has been committed to BLBC since first year, she is always punctual and willing to put in a big shift with a smile on her face. She will definitely utilise her skills to maintain the fleet and keep all footplates firmly in place throughout the year.

Riz has quickly integrated into the senior squad and his knowledge for rowing is heard by all. Riz,now one of the ergdaddy’s, is sure to look after our boats and equipment as well as willingly sacrifice a water bottle for the greater good pre-race.

Tour Secretaries: Lucy Maguire, Sarah Hendawy

This notorious Irish duo can can often be seen at tables at 7pm on the dot, their commitment to socials is outstanding. Expect big things from these 2 and finally understand “whats the crack”.

Lucy having previously been social secretory for two years wants to take her leadership and tables running skills international. As a great social leader lets hope she leaves her tears in the UK and continues to organise some great events.

Sarahs first time on committee, although Sarah may be something of a hidden gem down at the boathouse these days, you will be sure to find her at socials sipping a VK or cutting some shapes on the dance floor.

Coxswain’s Captain: Anthony Wang

Anthony has become a pivotal part of BLBC as both a cox and avid rower, although Anthony would love to row more he seems to be repeatedly found in the cox seat running the tideway. Outside of rowing Anthony is a croc fanatic and will frequently be seen on the cycle route to the boathouse with a broken tyre (or bike).

Men’s fresher captain: Idrees Latif

Idrees having started rowing this year has picked up the ball quickly, he is committed to both rowing and even more so the socials, we would be shocked to find idrees anywhere other than someones house after a tables, or happily riding along the dark streets of london on a Boris bike. Idrees is a man wise beyond his (many) years as well as a green mary activist.

Martha is no stranger to tideway affairs, from putting down solid splits since first year to now rowing her way to UH. As fresher captain she is sure to put in a big shift with freshers in all aspects of the boat club!

Academic and Welfare: Teheng Hong

A man of many words, Hong has been providing club spirit since first year and now he is ready to pass on his wisdom and knowledge to future years. Not only is he brainy but also a very caring man and will happily help you out whenever and wherever.
