QE3 PB’s 🚨

Multiple PB’s were caught over our QE3, and that only means one thing! 🪣

Rudi - 34lb 10oz
Oliver - 22lb 9oz
John - 34lb 5oz

In first place, Joe Hooper 🥇

Although coming last in the peg draw, Joe had a mega session with huge success on his solid bags sent at range 🚀 After noticing that his one roaming solid bag was producing he made the tactical change to put all three rods onto roaming solid bags which landed him 3 30s, one being PB called ‘Betty’ at 35lb 5oz! 🐋
His critical thinking and great watercraft lead him to 10 runs, 8 fish landed and his top 5 with a total weight of 148lb 9oz ⚖️

In second place, John Kittle 🥈

The BCAC qualifier held before our event yielded 42 fish to 16 anglers. JK had 36 by himself!

Doing what he does best- fishing at range in testing cross wind conditions, JK went through 65KG of bait with double and triple takes the norm.

Whilst not able to get through to the 30s despite changing his approach several times, JK still accrued an impressive top5 fish weight of 128lb 13oz.

This week the REME Carpers held their QE3 at Naseby Reservoir! 🇷🇴

16 anglers attended this 48 hour event and had a mega result. With so many carp being caught, the scoreboard was close!

The results are to follow:

In 3rd place we have Rudi Strydom 🥉

Rudi had a great session with a top 5 total weight of 125lb 11oz. He began with solid bags sent at 26 wraps, once it produced a bite he then created a baited area which really started to work for him! He also had a snaggy spot to his right hand margin which again fell for the solid bags. This session he also managed a new PB of 34lb 10oz 🐋

Last week the REME Carp Angling team held their QE2 at Broadlands lake .lakes 🇷🇴

16 anglers attended this 48 hour competition. Conditions were difficult with this large venue not receiving as much angling pressure as it’s used to.
But nonetheless some lovely carp and a good amount of 30’s came out!

Yet again, great numbers turned up with 20 REME anglers in attendance 💪🏻

Overall, 13 carp were caught on a tough challenging water !

A few of the REME Carpers headed over to France for a Week in the pursuit of big French carp 🇫🇷

Here’s their catch report from Dean🎣

Me, Tom Phillips and Al Haslam went to Etang Des Duex Pierres, on arrival it was perfect conditions with low pressure. It didn’t take long as Monday morning, I was hooked into the first fish, it weeded me up so much I had to go out in the boat and retrieve it, it was 48lb 8oz (day time photo). Early hours Monday morning I was into another fish which was 49lb on the nose. About an hour later I was battling my 3rd fish which was 47lb 1oz. Tommo had seen that i was catching as he was down the other end of the lake and decided a move of swim was needed. He moved to the peg next to me and sure enough it payed off. Landing his first French carp at 46lb, and then following it up with a 39lb 9oz. The pressure then skyrocketed and the lake went dead from Wednesday onwards. Unfortunately Al lost 4 fish due to swans and being cut off.
