Introducing the team: carter
Matt is a highly experienced and well-known coach within Gloucestershire and beyond, with RFU Level 3 Rugby coaching, Mentoring and Director of Rugby qualifications under his belt. Matt is a former Hartpury College student and holds a BTEC in sports science and Rugby Studies. Outside of running a successful plumbing and heating business, Matt is currently the Head of Rugby and professional sports coach at Kingham Hill School and has coached at Club 1st XVs, County level as well as National league Rugby (Both Men’s and Women’s). Matt has just finished his second internship with LPM under the watchful eye of Pierre Villepreaux. Having coached age grade rugby at his home Club Cirencester RFC, as well as Stow on the Wold RFC’s u13s last season, Matt headed up the Senior coaching team and whole Club Rugby section. Matt has recently stepped down as Director of Rugby at Stow on the Wold RFC after a highly successful period for the Club, culminating in their highest league finish position and highest level attained. Alongside coaching on the grass, Matt’s primary role in the Academy is that of Director of Rugby, responsible for the continued development and delivery of the overall Academy Rugby pathway, as well as coach, referee, CPD and mentoring.
