🥊 MISFITS BOXING: CIRCUS OR BOXING? 🎪

I've finally sat down and recorded my full breakdown of the Misfits card.

First things first, respect to every fighter who stepped through the ropes. It takes courage to get into a boxing ring, and that's something I'll always respect.

That said...

What did I actually watch?! 😂

There were definitely some fighters who impressed me, but there were also moments that left me wondering whether I was watching a boxing show or a circus.

The funny thing is...

A lot of us boxing people are complaining about it today...

But we all watched it. 🤡😂

Ibiza final boss vs Jordan McCann. Looked more like a bar brawl than a boxing match. Fighters gave their all, but cardio could've been better. Shouldn't have gone on like that.

🥊🎪 BOXING OR CIRCUS? THE TRUTH ABOUT MISFITS...

I stayed up and watched the entire Misfits card last night.

As a coach and lifelong boxing fan, I honestly found myself asking one question over and over again...

"What am I actually watching?"

Before anyone jumps in the comments, let me be clear...

Every single person who stepped through those ropes deserves respect. It takes courage to get in a boxing ring, and I will always respect that.

But what we saw last night was one of the strangest boxing cards I've ever watched.

There were huge mismatches, bizarre moments, fighters trying to wrestle and push each other around, people gassing out, drama, confusion and enough chaos to keep social media talking for a week.

Now here's the interesting part...

Today, thousands of boxing fans will call it a circus. 🎪

They'll say it's embarrassing.

They'll say it's bad for boxing.

They'll say it's not real boxing.

But here's the thing...

We all tuned in.

We all watched.

Most of us watched the whole show.

So who's really the clown? 🤡

The promotion giving people exactly what they want?

Or the rest of us who couldn't stop watching?

I woke up this morning, had a bath, and genuinely considered whether I could wash the taste of last night's boxing off me... 😂

Unfortunately, the memories are still there.

Love it or hate it, Misfits has people talking about boxing today, and that's exactly what they wanted.

I've got a full video breakdown coming later where I'll go through the fights, the madness, the good, the bad, and the moments that left me staring at the screen wondering if I'd accidentally changed channels.

The question is...

Is influencer boxing helping the sport by bringing in new fans?

Or is it turning boxing into reality TV with gloves on?

🥊 FIGHT OF THE NIGHT? YOU DECIDE... 🥊

What a battle between Rich Richard Talbot and Brandon Lang!

The official result was a draw, but if I'm honest, I thought Rich just edged it on the day. That said, massive respect to Brandon. What a fighter.

It's also worth remembering that this was Rich's SECOND fight of the night. Earlier in the evening, he stopped his first opponent with a second-round KO, so to come back out and put in another three hard rounds against a quality boxer like Brandon makes the performance even more impressive.

Brandon's long-range boxing was electric. His jab-cross was sharp, accurate, and causing problems from the opening bell. After the first round, myself, Joe Cattelona , and Aine Matthews had a chat in the corner and knew we had to change things up.

The old saying goes: "Boxer beats fighter, fighter beats boxer."

So we told Rich he had to slip, stay close, take away Brandon's range, and make it a fight. From the second round through to the end of the third, that's exactly what he did. Rich dug deep, put the pressure on, and showed exactly why he's one of the toughest men around.

Rich isn't just a fighter. He's one of the coaches at Spartans Gym and the Head Coach of our Corsham classes. He also helps out regularly with Malli's Fight School videos, giving up his time to help others learn the sport we love.

Congratulations to Brandon Lang on a fantastic performance, and congratulations to Rich Tolbert on another warrior's display. Humble in victory, humble in a draw, and a brilliant example of what this sport is all about.

🥊 WATCH THIS FIGHT! 🥊

The Spartans Raven, Aine Matthews , was back in action this weekend and put on an absolute boxing lesson.

Using her height brilliantly, Aine controlled the range from start to finish, showing great footwork, sharp movement, and excellent ring IQ. Her timing on the counter left hook was spot on all night and played a huge part in securing the win.

A huge credit also goes to Frankie Franziska, who came to win and brought plenty of pressure throughout the contest. Both ladies showed tremendous heart, determination, and skill, making this a fantastic fight for the crowd and a great advert for women's boxing.

Aine is also one of the coaches who regularly helps out with Malli's Fight School videos, sharing her knowledge and experience to help others improve their boxing.

If you enjoy technical boxing, good movement, smart counter punching, and two warriors giving it everything they've got, this fight is definitely worth a watch.

It's fight day!

The Spartans crew are heading down to Swindon tonight for the MCP show, and we've got a strong team representing the gym.

Yo yo yo, what’s happening people 👊🥊

This heavyweight title fight stoppage was a bad call. It wasn't fair to the fighters and hurts the sport's integrity. Unbelievable.
