Olivemead lake The Mead is a pretty 3 acre UK carp fishing venue and has been family run since 2007.

Olivemead has 5 lodge swims and holds around 170+ carp (80+x 20lb+, 60x 30lb+ and 6x 40lb+ carp) The men’s lake record is 47lb 2oz & the ladies’ record is 43lb.

Not my Carp!!!! All the glory belongs to Tony, who’s fishing out of Willows Lodge with his wife Sharon, I just jumped in to get the Carps photo👍

This stunning mirror weighed in at 31lb 2oz and is looking well spawned out and immaculate. It is definitely getting its head down to replenish that energy it expended during spawning.

Here’s Steve’s second 30+ from his double take this morning.

Fishing out of Cedars Lodge with his wife Pam, this was Steve’s other clonking mirror.
Slowly gaining its weight back, post spawning, this cracker went 32lb 8oz.
A few spawning marks but absolutely fighting fit, this scaley mirror is definitely going to be one to watch in the future. Plenty of substance, nice and long with a great frame and scale pattern, a future Mead ‘Hippo’💪

If you’ve been fishing long enough you’ve no doubt had a double take, but when that double take results in ‘A Brace Of 30’s’, well that’s pretty special !!!!……

This happened to Steve, who’s fishing out of Cedars Lodge with his wife Pam, this morning and both Carp went past that magical 30 mark.

First up, is the smaller of the 2, which tipped the scales to 31lb 8oz.
This beauty is well spawned out and looks in tip top condition for its endeavours.

Ben, who’s fishing out of Oak Lodge with his family, had this stunning Common this morning.

In pristine condition and weighing over 18lb+, this Common gave Ben a bit of a run around but Ben got the upper hand and won the day.

Ben also had a 22lb+ in the early hours but no pic for that one. One things for sure, Ben is definitely getting amongst them😊

As most of our guests know, we usually close during the Winter months to enable us to get any major work done around the main lake. This year, most of those jobs on the main lake have been completed so, 🚨WE WILL BE OPENING FOR LONG WEEKENDS THROUGHOUT THE WINTER SEASON🚨, not only that, 🔴WE WILL BE OFFERING A 35% DISCOUNT ON ALL WINTER BOOKINGS🔴.
*You will be required to book the “3 NIGHTS, Friday-Monday” in order to receive the 35% discount. *

This will start Friday 20th November 2026 and the final discounted long weekend will commence on Friday 19th February 2027 as the lake will re-open for the 2027 season on Friday 26th February 2027.

The Mead is absolutely renowned for its high number of 30lb+ carp, more than 60 no less, in such a stunning setting in just 3+ acres of water.

Here’s another beautiful, 31lb 14oz, beautifully scaled mirror, caught by Tony, who’s fishing out of Willows Lodge with his his wife Sharon.

I had my photo taken with the carp but Tony and Sharon did all the hard work and, quite rightly so, take all the credit.

Here’s Joe, who left Sadie’s Lodge this morning, with his new p.b.

This cracking mirror, looked in pristine condition and weighed in at 28lb and gave Joe his new p.b. You can’t really ask for more from your first visit to a new venue.

Sadies Lodge is still doing the bizz.

Here’s Joe, who fished out of Sadie’s Lodge with his mate, and he bagged 3 carp during his 2 night stay at The Mead.

Here’s a couple of them, a superb mirror which went 18lb+ and a pristine Common which went 20lb+.

Not too bad for his visit to The Mead but he also had a new p.b. which I’ll post next.
