10 years ago a friend will suggest you quit your job and set up a coaching business.

It’s very important you listen to that friend 💜🥳

16 years of qualified coaching experience, 40 years of running and racing. We have spaces for new athletes to join the purple crew, DM ‘Purple’ to find out more 💜

Congratulations to for finishing the Arc 50 over the weekend. The goal for this race was top 10, and Storm finished 10th. However, the bigger goal was staying injury free during the build and learning how to fuel properly. Storm joined the purple crew last year with a backlog of injuries. A gradual build of strength work and fuelling more during our journey together and Storm has gained confidence in her running with each new block of training.

11:01 10th female in horrid underfoot conditions. Well done Storm, very proud coach 💜🤩

Arc of Attrition weekend 💫

Nothing quite like those coast path trails, waves crashing and even in the dark incredibly beautiful.

Our coaches are experienced ultra runners and road runners, we know what these trails feel like, the raw emotions of reaching a finish line. The lifetime of emotions you feel during a road marathon let alone 100 miles.

We have spaces for new athletes, ultra runners or road runners, just get in touch by whatever means.

The Winter Spine, 268 miles from Edale to Kirk Yetholm along the full length of the Penine Way.

We knew as soon as completed the Challenger North last January, that this would be the next goal.

It’s been a challenging year with a change of job, injury and illness, but my goodness Paul has kept his belief and trained when he could, carefully building strength in the gym, on the treadmill (inclined) and out on the trails.

Bloody proud of you Paul, looking forward to the debrief and slightly worried what’s next 🫠💜

Festive fun for purple crew at the weekend with running the fastest Christmas tree at Westonbirt Christmas 10km, and Matt finishing off his year with a strong run at the Celtic Marathon.

We also had athletes running in various cross country races for their clubs.

It’s London Marathon good for age day and we are celebrating our marathon runners achievements from Valencia 🥳

Mike ran Valencia Marathon as his debut road marathon, training could not have gone better. Sub 3 in the bag and splits that would make any coach proud 🤩 Mike stayed calm and patient just as we’d planned, 2.59 was his reward 🥳

also had a great build up, until with a month to go arthritis flared up. The plan was reshaped, Fiona maintained her incredible fitness on the bike and still finished 10th 55-60 AG in 3:24. Very proud of your tenacity and positive energy Fiona 💜

ran the Lanzarote half marathon. Incredibly warm and very windy conditions tampered with fast times, but Bec still ran strongly for a 1:35 and 1st AG 🤩 London Marathon is now calling, so little rest and the build begins 🥳

ran in the Cheviot Goat, a very different event to those above, but right up Emma’s street. Super tough conditions under foot, but Emma finished and can now rest up until the build to 2026 and a road marathon beckons 🥳

New athlete Callum ran in the DBMax Chilly 10km in quite frankly horrible conditions. Still ran a 27s PB for 38:04, those 5s though. Something to keep working for. Callum is also now building to a spring road marathon 🥳

Michelle has capacity for new athletes looking ahead to spring or further beyond marathons or ultra marathons. Please DM ‘marathon’ or contact us using the links in the bio.

🥳

Congratulations to our weekend trail running racers:

ran the Broadway Marathon, a tough trail race taking in the Cotswold Way and Broadway tower. Steph ran a strong race, finishing in 3 hours 57 and 2nd woman 🥈🤩

Matt ran the New Forest 22km trail race, the culmination of a solid block of training since he joined the purple crew this summer. Onto to some exciting racing in 2026, and building more strength and resilience 🤩

Both Steph and Matt are coached by our founder Michelle . Michelle has a couple of spaces just opened up for new athletes. Please DM ‘Runner’ or use the links in our bio to contact us.

Many boxes ticked for coached athlete at the Bys Vyken Lighthouse Marathon. The course takes in 26 miles of the Arc 50 course, so is perfect specific preparation for the race in January.

For Storm we focussed on starting cautiously, fuelling (wee bit to work on there but much better) and finishing strong.

Happy day out for Storm and much confidence gained for January 🥳💜

Two of our purple crew ladies were running half marathons this weekend:

Lou ran just over 2 hours at the Access Landmarks Half Marathon in Cape Town. Lou is racing lots while out there for a long trip culminating in a marathon in a few weeks time.

Steph ran in the Marlow Half Marathon. Quite a hilly course, finishing 3rd female 🥳 Huge successes in fuelling during this race too, our first mini goal ticked off ✔️

Marcus ran in the Black Beacon Ultra Bach 50km. A fantastic run from Marcus running just over 7 hours. A culmination of very careful preparation and progressive training. Marcus was recovering from an ankle injury when he first joined the purple crew a few months ago. Excited to debrief and plan for the next goals. (No pic, some coaching needed there! 😅)

Congratulations to our racing ladies this weekend 💫

absolutely flew round the Maidenhead half marathon, finishing in 1:27 and 1st v55 🥳🤩 Huge confidence boost as we head into the final block of marathon training 💜

Lou Cole ran in two races to make up for the Cape Town marathon being cancelled the previous weekend. 8km and 15km Dunlock Memorial races. Lou felt great which is hopefully testament to the new fuelling and diet we’ve been trialling 🥳

We had two purple crew racing at the Jurassic Coast 100km, a very hilly race with some chunky vert ⛰️

For Paul this was a stepping stone event on his journey to the full winter spine in January. Solid time on feet and feeling good on the hills, some fuelling issues to conquer over the next two blocks of training 💪

For Becky this was a goal race. I’ve only been coaching Becky a few weeks but we adjusted her training to get the most out of the final block pre race. Becky had a great race, strong throughout, and moving through the field.

Another incredible performance to celebrate from the weekend 🥳

ran 3:13 at the Abingdon Marathon. A huge 20 minute PB and what a performance 💜 Jen ran with a huge smile the whole way round. Plenty more in the tank from Jen we feel.
