It’s race week! Heading to the Wing at Silverstone for the next instalment of the Roadsports series. We have been away doing some shorter races and testing in the hope we are returning to a track where we could really push hard for some good racing. Here is a topic for discussion? I have my own opinion on this rule change by Motorsport UK but keen to see what anyone thinks about such an amendment to the use of GPS systems.

I assume this is going to effect from top down from the BTCC, British GT Championship and other wider UK championships. All the way down to club racing with

Or are we going to see a wider separation of a two tier system for national championships and club championships?

Heading to Thruxton Race Circuit circuit in 48hrs time. Setting up the car ready for the next invitational race with The Track Action Racing Club . Cannot wait to see if the car now has once and for all got rid of its power gremlin and we can fight for some good laps around the fastest track in the UK.

A good day testing out the car and finally solving the problem with fuelling. The car performance is now where it should be. Massive thank you to Horsham Developments for the mapping and help. Massive thank you to Tarmac Sportz for the parts and quick delivery to get the car out again.

The biggest thing today was Slip&Grip Automotive hosting a very good day at Castle Combe Circuit. The track etiquette was great, I hope I was seen as a gentleman too. The day was relaxed and so much seat time. Was nice to meet a bunch of people that just loves racing and cars. I will definitely be returning to another Slip and Grip run track day, thank you Ross for today.

We are out racing again next weekend and we will share the race timings in the week. See you all on a track soon

Another frustrating weekend. The weather couldn’t decide what to do with wind, rain and sun tossing a coin on who was next to hit us. We ended up with a dry qualifying. Qualifying went well for the majority but after a pit stop for a tyre pressure and temp check & adjustment. It seemed we got the dreaded issues of intermittent power.

We managed to qualify 9th overall and 1st in the Nippon Challenge without managing a fully committed flying lap.

After a long evening trying to source, fix and prepare the car. The only way to test if it was solved was Race 1 on Sunday morning. To our frustration we still had the issue and ended up retiring the car 3 minutes from the end of the race.

Back to the basics of heat management we made so airflow changes to try and cool the engine bay some more, thinking that there was heat soak and the hot air wasn’t escaping from the bay.

Race 2 saw us do just 4 laps and then the weekend was over as the fault was still there and nothing could be done until it is fully diagnosed.

That’s racing some would say.

We think we have a good idea now from the ECU datalog and can get it sorted out. But not in time for Snetterton, so had to withdraw our entry. We may look to do something slightly later to replace the seat time missed.
