First race for Steele Davis Via Roma RT took place at Thruxton at the weekend. Grant Bayton coming back after a long lay off due to back issues to ride in the 3rd cat race and finishing 6th, and Matt Lelliot riding the E12 race and showing good form finishing 8th. With just 2 of the team racing this was a great solid start with both riders in the top 10. Thank You to all our sponsors for making the team happen for a 2nd year.

Steele Davis Via Roma RT had an eventful weekend taking part in the 2nd Cotswold league event promoted by Cotswold Veldrijden, the team line up was Rhys Lloyd, Steve Thomas, Mark Perry and Lewis Braithwaite.
The team had all the early attacks covered during the first 10 miles of the tailwind section, less than a lap covered and an attack went with Rob Wilcox and his teammate from the RAF Team, Rhys covered and they soon had 45 seconds. The gap stayed at between 30-45 secs for the next 40 miles which was tough going with the peloton continuing to average 27mph. With the late start and temperatures of 25 deg the heat was soon taking its toll.

With a lap to go the gap started to drop on the last lap and Rhys came back to the peloton with only 5 miles to go, with no one in the lead group now we were hoping to catch the remaining two riders from the RAF but despite a rapid run in to the finish they did a great ride to stay clear with Rob Wilcocks winning. Steve took Mark up the right side of the bunch with 2k to go and straight onto the Bristol RC leadout. Bristol RC seemed to go a little too early and Mark was just pipped for 3rd settling for a well deserved 4th place.

After losing so many races due to the snow and ice early season it feels like the team are just getting going. Races are now coming in thick and fast with the boys just starting to find their legs.

A special mention should go to our team mate on the Road Marcin Bialoblocki who smashed the 25 mile TT record on the R25/3h course near Rhigos with an impressive average speed of 34mph!!! Marcin rides for Nopinz for all time trials and Steele Davis Via Roma RT for all road and circuit events, we are proud of Marcin's continued motivation showing his true class. We hope to see Marcin flying the flag at the Lincoln GP in a few weeks.

Thank you to all the Volunteers and helpers to make these events happen! These volunteers were out helping from early morning to late afternoon, "Chapeau to you all"
