Monday Motivation is back!!! A full body 25minute workout🔥🔥🔥
Make sure you warm up then set your timer for 25minutes.....work down the list THEN if you still have time.....work back up!!!🤛
For my pregnant Mumma’s.....do half-jacks instead of full jumping jacks, hands up on a bench/wall for mountain climbers, rise onto toes in squat jumps, walk the burpees in and out, replace squat thrusts with wide sumo squats and replace back extensions with shoulder bridge/glute bridges👍👍Any qu’s message me😘 let’s get the week started with those exercise endorphins flowing! 😘

A hip-replacement is a big enough challenge but add to the mix the ever-changing, never consistent or predictable world of Type 1 Diabetes.....then you have yourself a MASSIVE challenge!
The last 2 weeks have made me use absolutely everything I’ve learnt about Type 1 and my body. Ive had to use every bit of knowledge in order to attempt to control my blood sugars and I have to say that although 6.4 is not brilliant- considering ALL the factors I have had to battle to keep my Sugars down, I’ll take it as a WIN!
ALL of the following effect blood sugars:
Anaesthesia
Pain killers
Lack of sleep
Pain
Constipation
Getting emotional
Heat
Stress
Change of food
Reduction in movement

Sooooooo.......yep.....it has been a challenge! Hopefully now my Sugars are settling down a bit as the Factors are gradually being removed.

Day 14......back on the rig! Things are definitely getting better, I’m sleeping a bit better and able to move my body a little easier. My appetite is still rubbish and I’m still exhausted by 4pm BUT for 14 days in I don’t think it’s too bad.
First attempt today on the rig: pull-ups and band assisted ring-dips.......felt SHOCKING! It’s sooooo unfair how quickly you lose strength ! Im trying to see everything as a new challenge.....in another 2 weeks I’ll be back at 5-6 pull-ups and a looser band for dips 👍💪

Day 13......still getting the cardio in! Adapted the ski erg to a seated version......6km ✅ A hip replacement is no excuse not to keep training PLUS I do it for my sanity!

19/07/2019

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me! 10 squats to box to celebrate!!! Not quite the standard of my usual Birthday w/outs but at Day 13 I’ll take that!

17/07/2019

Day 10......1st w/out going down!! Hmmmmm......not quite a workout- just my leg exercises, some gentle glute activation and core work BUT it is progress!💪🤛 PLUS moving, starting an exercise plan mentally makes me feel so much better and in control!

This is the compendium of drugs ( minus my Diabetic quota!) that I am supposed to be taking! As someone that has a history of mental health issues taking this amount of drugs and feeling so ‘out of it’ made me uncomfortable. Taking the full prescription of drugs available I didn’t feel myself, I felt over emotional, depressed and exhausted. These feelings, in my opinion, were far worse than feeling a little pain BUT feeling more ME!
I have now dropped all but the absolute necessary drugs ( I’ve double checked with Dr’s!) and I feel sooooooo much better! Yes, I have a bit of pain BUT my head is clearer, I feel positive & I can actually FEEL the improvements! For me less drugs = happier mental health ❤️❤️disclaimer- obviously this is a personal preference only!!!

To some this may be the most boring bit of film EVER.........BUT.......look closer.......1 CRUTCH!!!! Yaaaaaaay! Day 7, exactly 1 week since I said goodbye to my right hip I am able to walk around the house with 1 bloody crutch! 2 days ago I didn’t think this was going to be possible in 2 weeks!
The BODY IS AN AMAZING THING!
Things to be grateful for today:
* walking (for a limited time) with 1 crutch
* walking to Costa for a coffee
* putting my own knickers on!😂😂Don’t knock this one- it really is 1 of the most annoying downsides of a hip replacement along with not being able to use a normal toilet!)
* had my hair washed ( thanks Mum)
* Mum & Dad attacked our back garden so I can actually see light from my bedroom window!😂
Week 1 complete, week 2.......let’s be havin you!!!!🤛🤛🤛

I’m home!!!!! Mentally it’s a massive positive step forwards to be back home. Besides missing my Hubby and little boy all week, being in your own environment helps no end!
My initial fears of being able to cope at home have faded as I have accomplished them....
Navigating the apartment ✅
Being able to get to/use the toilet without all the grab rails available at Hospital ✅(although I have no great hopes for the life expectancy of the toilet roll holder as it subs for a grab rail😂)
Being able to get in and out of bed✅
Lastly & very importantly 😂....finding a comfy spot on the sofa✅
6 days on and I am slightly more comfortable.....still not sleeping well or in the best head space but DEFINITELY a step forward 👍

12/07/2019

Day 4......I made it to crutches!!! As positive as this seems and as positive as I have tried to be I’m actually in a rather bad place.
My pain level is still unmanageable- the Drs have tried everything and it has now been decided that this level of pain 4days after surgery is ‘highly unusual ‘!!
The x-rays have been checked again and as far as the Consultant is concerned everything is in the right place. Soooooo it’s a mystery! 1 chain of conclusion is that the muscles in my operated side have gone into a state of spasm causing all the nerves in the area to be pinched, so the next step is heavy duty muscle relaxants.
On top of the constant pain from my hip, I’ve got heartburn/indigestion from all the pain killers and constipation!!! Oh the glamour!!! To be honest I am feeling so low right now that I can’t see when or how this situation is going to get better 😢😢Apologies for the whiny post- I wanted to keep it real!!!
