From September 2, 2026, Sussex Cricket Limited will begin the process of nominations for five new Board members.

All Club Members will be notified by email. Members opted out of email correspondence will receive notifications through the post.

This Saturday 5th September we host Pagham versus Aldwick in a sussex cricket league fixture starting at 12.30pm.
The bar will be open if you can bring cash that would be great as our card machine is on the blink🙈
Also I have some medals for the Selsey smashers who were away for the final session so please contact me if you would like me to drop them round😇
Sunday 6th seal inter pub match from 10am

well the season has flown by again as we enter the last week before the winter shut down of the pitch and clubhouse.
Selsey Smashers was a great success as we look to develop junior cricket within the community for the future, developing into game time is the next area for 2027 and this will be done in friendly games as pairs cricket in short fast games.
Senior player wise we would like a sunday captain to organise team for next season. so any people wishing to show an interest please let us know we have an AGM which will most likely be in November.
if anyone feels they have something to offer please contact us whether admin, coaches, team managers, welfare officers, sponsors etc the list is endless and all help gratefully received.
I will look at doing a monthly notice during the off season to keep all in the loop. Many thanks to the people who have helped this season your support much appreciated. Here's looking forward to 2027 and supporting cricket in Selsey and the great community which we have. happy cricketing 🏏

The season might not be over just yet, but it’s a good time to start thinking about what comes next...

The ECB have pulled together a range of Close of Play resources to help clubs wrap up the season, keep players and volunteers engaged, get grounds ready for winter and start planning for 2027.

A little preparation now can make a difference when the new season comes around.

Get Set Weekend, powered by Toyota, returns on 3–4 April 2027, giving clubs a chance to bring everyone back together and get ready for the season ahead 🏏

🏏QUICK TIP: Here's a simple 7 STEP COACHING PROCESS for any parent coaching or playing with their young child:

✅ 1. Give a short 30 - 60's EXPLANATION using 2 - 4 key points
✅ 2. DEMONSTRATE the skill
✅ 3. Set up a 'station' so they can PRACTICE the drill
✅ 4. Focus on the things they get right and PRAISE this!
✅ 5. Ask them what they thought they did right and what they feel wasn't right
✅ 6. Give feedback in a POSITIVE manner
✅ 7. REPEAT the process above once more and then once they have 'got the hang' of it, let them play or practice without your interference, other than praise for what is done correctly.
