⚽️ Training Review ⚽️

After a full day of rain, the sun finally came out and gave us a beautiful evening for football.

Really proud of everyone tonight for the effort and determination shown during the fitness work. You can really see the players pushing themselves to improve their fitness and stamina, and it’s brilliant watching everyone work hard and dig deep together.

We then focused on movement and passing, working the ball down the wings and creating crossing opportunities for the attackers coming into the box. The aim was to help the team understand the movement, make use of the wide areas, and spot those attacking options.

It took a little while to get going, but once we warmed up, there was some fantastic wing play, brilliant crosses, and even a few great finishes 😂.

The final game was full of positive football as we encouraged the team to look up, find the pass, and keep the ball moving. Some lovely movement and excellent goals throughout.

For finding that extra gear tonight and pushing through to complete the cross-country course, Trainer of the Week goes to Lyndon. Well deserved 👍🏻

See you all next week!

⚽️ Match Review ⚽️

The off season is officially underway! We played a very strong Somersall side today, and as always they gave us a really competitive game from start to finish.

It was fantastic to see our new lads proudly wearing the Samba colours and getting their first minutes under their belts.

Today was all about trying a few different positions, working together as a team, moving the ball well and keeping the energy high throughout. Once again, the boys didn’t disappoint. Their attitude, effort and motivation have carried straight into the off season.

There were some lovely moments of passing football today, with everyone working hard for each other. We saw some brilliant link-up play, great overlaps and really positive attacking football.

Defensively we looked solid as always, and we moved the ball forward really well. The boys used the wide areas brilliantly which led to some excellent crosses and chances on goal.

The biggest positive for us as coaches was seeing every single player smiling, encouraging one another and enjoying themselves right to the final whistle. Hearing the laughter and banter after the game is what it’s all about.

Today’s Man of the Match trophy is shared between Alfie and Lucas, who both showed fantastic energy, pace and determination throughout the game. Both boys were constantly involved and worked incredibly hard for the team. Well done lads 👏⚽️

Another beautiful evening blessed with warm sunshine made the perfect backdrop for football tonight ☀️⚽️

Firstly, for our lads in Year 6, me and Sam just want to say how proud we are of you all for getting through your SATs this week. You can see the boys are tired, but we’ve got no doubt you’re all smashing it. Two days down and two to go… you’ve got this lads 👊🏻

We started with our usual fitness work tonight. It wasn’t easy getting some very tired boys running, but the effort and attitude were still there for all to see, with the lads even wanting to take on the cross-country loop!

We then moved into a shooting drill focused on driving forward quickly and getting defenders turning on the back foot. The ball was played forward and the players had to decide whether to cut inside or drive down the wing before finishing with a shot on goal. Some really positive attacking play on show.

After that, we moved into a giant game of rondo, encouraging quick passing, movement and teamwork while trying to score in the central goals. Once the boys settled into it, we saw some excellent passing combinations and great movement off the ball.

That carried nicely into our end game, where the passing and movement continued and was fantastic to watch.

Lots of players are really starting to find their feet, getting into great positions and making excellent decisions both on and off the ball. Those qualities were especially shown tonight by our Trainer of the Week, Alfie 👏⚽️

Well done Alfie!

See you all Saturday for our first friendly of the off season! 👊🏻

⚽️ Trainer Review ⚽️

Thank you so much for the fantastic turnout tonight. It was great to see both the players and parents enjoying themselves, lots of laughter and a really positive atmosphere all around.

We kicked things off with a bit of unexpected cross country on a very hilly loop. The focus was simple: keep going, give it your all, and don’t stop running. Every single player rose to the challenge. The effort across the group was brilliant, and it was great to see that level of determination from everyone.

After that, we moved into small-sided games using the smaller goals to encourage more passing and movement. The players responded really well, showing some great teamwork and awareness. There was some lovely football played during these sessions.

We finished with a full game, which brought everything together nicely. There were some great moments throughout, topped off by a fantastic winning goal from Joel.

For outstanding effort during the cross country and for showing real determination. Trainer of the Night goes to Rylee. Very well done👏

Thanks again everyone, and we’ll see you all next week

25/26 season has officially come to an end.
This team has been absolutely fantastic this season. Myself and Sean have loved every minute of it and already can’t wait for what next season will bring.

With the addition of a few new players we have lots of work to do in training and plenty of friendlies to look forward to in the summer break.

A big thank you to all our players and parents this year. It all wouldn’t be possible without you 👏🏼

Roll on presentation night 🏆💛💙

Samba vs Tupton

What a lovely way to finish the season. The sunshine was out, and it was brilliant to see so many smiling faces cheering from the sidelines.

Our message to the lads today was simple: enjoy yourselves, support each other, and play good football and they absolutely delivered. From start to finish, the effort and teamwork were clear to see. We held our positions well, worked hard from the back, and put together some really nice passages of play that led to plenty of chances on goal.

We did get caught offside a few times, but that just shows the intent to keep pushing forward and play on the front foot. At the other end, the defence stayed strong and dependable, protecting our trusted keeper with confidence.

It really was a fantastic team performance. Watching the players encourage each other and play with such spirit is something to be proud of and as coaches, we certainly are.

Man of the Match goes to Jake for a solid display at the back. Always in the right place, making important tackles, and giving everything for the team 👏

⚽️ Training Review ⚽️

Another brilliant training session, once again blessed with some sunshine ☀️

A big thank you to everyone who came along tonight. We started the session with some strength and fitness work to help build those muscles, with a fun twist of carrying the wood 🪵

There was plenty of laughter, loads of effort, and it was great to see everyone getting stuck in and giving it their all.

That led us nicely into the game, where we began with a few restrictions in place. Some fantastic teamwork on show, with great passing and movement that created some excellent goals.

We finished with a game of killer, and our regular end-of-game champion reclaimed his crown once again 👑

Well done, Ted 👍🏻

Great energy from everyone tonight.💪⚽️

Samba Yellows vs Bolsover Town Owls

What a brilliant, energetic game that was, with plenty of action from start to finish.

It was fantastic to see every player arrive today with such positive attitudes and ready to give their best. That mindset showed throughout the entire match and made a real difference in every area of the pitch.

After last week’s excellent performance, I wondered if we could reach that level again, but the team proved me completely wrong.

Every single player showed maturity, positivity, and great teamwork. It was clear to see everyone working hard for one another, supporting each other throughout, and giving absolutely everything for the team. They continue to grow together as a group, playing for each other and showing what can be achieved when everyone works as one. The result was a dominant performance all over the pitch.

We passed the ball with purpose, defended with real determination, and looked to move forward whenever we had the chance. These were exactly the things we spoke about before the game, and the team delivered brilliantly.

As coaches, we can honestly say, and I’m sure the parents will agree, that this was the best performance we have seen from the team so far. The progress, growth, and development from every player makes us incredibly proud, and we could not have asked for any more today. 👏🏼🙌🏼

⚽️ Training Review ⚽️

It was so nice to see everyone tonight. Being back on the grass with a bit more space made a real difference and gave the session a great feel from the start.

We kicked things off with some fitness work, and it was great to see everyone getting stuck in, working hard and really pushing themselves. The effort across the group was brilliant.

We then moved straight into a game with a couple of fun challenges. First, no talking at all, and then switching to calling loudly for the ball. It brought plenty of laughs while also encouraging everyone to think about space and communication on the pitch.

There was some really good passing and movement throughout, and once the shouting kicked in, it led to some fantastic goals as well.

It was also lovely to welcome a few new faces to training tonight. Everyone settled in really well and there were lots of smiles all around. A special shoutout to Ezra for taking the crown in the final challenge!

And a big well done to our trainer of the night, Ted. Great movement, solid passing, and real commitment in the tackles 👏🏆

Samba vs Staveley

What a fantastic day for football. It may have started a little drizzly, but the sun soon came out and so did an incredible performance from the team.

As coaches, we can honestly say that was one of the standout performances of the season. From the very beginning, we knew it would be a challenge being a player down with no subs, but the way everyone stepped up was nothing short of brilliant.

The focus was on teamwork, encouragement, and playing for each other, and the team delivered on every single one of those points. Every ball was chased, every space was closed down, and the effort to move the ball forward was excellent. Players supported each other throughout, covering positions and staying positive even when things got tough.

Nancy led from the back with an incredibly brave performance. The defence stayed disciplined and worked tirelessly for one another, with three outstanding goal line clearances showing real commitment and teamwork.

The forwards played their part too, tracking back to support defensively while showing great determination going forward. Their energy, dribbling, and passing created real attacking intent, and their desire to score was clear to see.

This is a day we’ll be extremely proud of as coaches. The team showed exactly what grassroots football is all about, teamwork, determination, and supporting each other every step of the way.

There’s no single player of the match today, because every single player put in a man-of-the-match performance. That’s something you should all be very proud of.

Have a great weekend everyone, and we’ll see you Tuesday for training! 👍🏻
