👶👩‍🦳 | All ages active at the Healthy Living Centre

A low pressure fitness class designed for anyone who wants to move more, feel stronger, and build confidence.

Whether you’re a new mum easing back into exercise, an older adult looking for gentle movement, or simply someone who prefers a supportive, adaptable workout environment.

New mums are encouraged to bring their babies or toddlers along. There’s space for little ones to play safely while you focus on rebuilding strength, improving posture, and reconnecting with your body.

The class blends toning, strengthening, and mobility exercises, with plenty of options for low impact or higher challenging variations depending on your needs.

Movements can be adapted for post natal recovery, joint considerations, or age related limitations, making it ideal for those aged 50+ as well as complete beginners.

Join us Thursdays at 1.15pm.

The goal is simple: supportive movement for every body, at every stage of life.

🌊 Stay safe around water in hot weather

Hot weather can make rivers, lakes and the sea look very inviting, but cold water shock, strong currents and hidden dangers can catch people out quickly.

Remember the Water Safety Code:
• Stop and think – check for dangers before going near the water
• Stay together – never swim alone
• Call 999 – ask for the Coastguard at the coast or Fire and Rescue inland
• Float – if you get into trouble, float on your back and call for help

Please enjoy the sunshine safely and share this message to help protect others this summer.

☀️ Summer water safety

With warmer weather here, more people are heading to the water to cool off, but open water can be far more dangerous than it looks.

A few simple steps can help save lives:
• Choose lifeguarded swimming areas where possible
• Open water is often much colder than it appears
• Swim parallel to the shore so you stay close to safety
• Never swim alone — always go with someone else
• If you get into difficulty, call for help immediately

Let’s help prevent avoidable tragedies this summer by sharing these important water safety messages.

💦We proudly support the Royal Life Saving Society UK’s Drowning Prevention Week campaign.

We want to inspire children to have a positive relationship with water, with all the mental and physical benefits of being in, on, and around water, and enjoy a lifetime of fun in the water, safely.

This is why we offer any child enrolled on our learn to swim or dry side programme is free swimming with a paying adult. For more information speak to reception.

⛱ Water safety at the beach
Heading to the beach this summer? Please take a moment to think about water safety before jumping in.

More people drown in the UK and Ireland than die in domestic fires or cycling accidents. A day by the sea should be fun, but it’s important to stay alert and aware of the risks.

Top beach safety reminders:
• Never let young children out of your reach
• Check the area for hazards before entering the water
• Ask for local advice about tides, currents and unsafe areas
• Don’t use inflatables in open water
• Know how to call for help in an emergency

Stay safe, stay together, and enjoy the water responsibly this summer.
