CLIENT TESTIMONIAL!

One of the best bits of my job is the relationship you develop with clients over months and years.

And working with someone over multiple years means you see them in all phases of life, on good and bad days, and get to support them through it all.

It's always been a pleasure working with Catherine, and delighted to see how her strength has progressed through the past few years

A really lovely review recently from Sophie

Fitness can be an incredibly emotive subject, it can be daunting, overwhelming, uncomfortable and intimidating

But my job is to meet you where you are on the day, and support you in progressing in a way thats meaningful to you

Some days, clients come in upset, stressed out, injured, frustrated, or just plain miserable

Im not here to force feed you some miserable diet or horrendous workout plan that you dread week on week. Im here to help you feel a little bit better every time you leave the gym

Thats why reviews like this matter to me infinitely more than reviews saying Ive helped someone achieve an incredible body transformation (as much as its lovely to see those too!). I want to be a place people feel comfortable, encouraged, motivated and better off for turning up.

Thanks so much Sophie! You're doing brilliantly 😁

If youre struggling with getting on top of your fitness, drop me a message and lets have a chat about how we can support you best

How's the January New Year's Resolutions gone?

January's always a difficult time. You start the year with all this determination and excitement to change for the better, and you wake up January 1st tired, hungover, and with this added pressure to overhaul your life and completely change your behaviors.

Add in to the mix the crap weather, dark nights, going back to work, kids going back to school, drawn out paychecks and January is an all round miserable month (I know for a fact, I've put nothing on social media for a reason!)

So you might find you're feeling a bit flat with how this year's started, with how your fitness goals have progressed, with struggling to stick to being a 'healthier' person.

And that's natural, but the important thing is not to give up on the year because of a tricky first month.

The pressure to change everything in January stems from this all or nothing mindset we often get sold by the fitness industry, but the reality is you can make fantastic changes to your health and fitness without having to change your entire life - small tweaks to habits, increasing movement and clever changes to your diet compound over time to create brilliant results.

The goal is to create a lifestyle that allows to you feel your best, keeps you active, eating in a way that leads to your goals without sacrificing everything that makes life worth living. The goal is not to reach a goal weight as quickly as possible.

So if you've fallen off the fitness horse, as many have this year, take a second to consider why, and consider what you need to get back on track with things (the answer is very rarely "I just need to be more disciplined")

And if you need some help making it happen, get in touch today!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hope you all have a brilliant day

Remember, in 1, 5, 10, 20 years, no one will give a s**t how much you ate today - they'll remember how they spent the day with you.

So enjoy it, be present with your loved ones, eat some good food, have a laugh

And dont panic about perfection!

As a christmas present, enjoy some holiday karaoke of the best christmas song going

Merry christmas team 🎅

Happy 1st Birthday to Freedom Fitness Coaching!!

1 year ago today, Freedom Fitness Coaching had its first sessions

It feels surreal to say. I remember being 17 years old deciding that I wanted to study business at Uni so I could learn how to set up a personal training business (not that they ever taught that 🙄)

It only took 10 years to go through with it 😂

It was a massive leap. There was a lot of anxious nights to begin and many times I questioned if it was going to work (especially 3 months before getting married...)

But I can unequivocally say it was one of the est decisions I ever made. I'm delighted with how far we've come, and cannot wait to see what the coming years bring!

I want to give a massive thank you to all the clients who have supported us over the past year, and to for the help getting to where we are today

Onwards and upwards! Time for cake (leftover cake from my wifes birthday, but still cake!)

Cheers team!

Yes team!

Slightly late to the party, but I'll be taking part in Movember this year to raise money for Movember and Ashgate Hospice.

Men's mental health is a cause very close to my heart, from dealing with my own struggles, support friends, and sadly losing a friend to su***de a few years ago.

Taking part in Movember isn't necessarily about raising money, but about showing people out there who might be struggling that they are cared about people that support is available.

This year, all donations will be split 50/50 with Ashgate Hospice, following the news that they have had to make significant cuts due to insufficient funding.

Hopefully we help them continue to do the incredible work they do support their patients.

If you'd like to donate, please follow the link below, and at the very least support my wife during this difficult time of not being able to look me in the face.

As an added thank you, all donations will be entered into a raffle for either 2 free PT sessions or a month's free online coaching, available for yourselves or gifted to a friend.

Cheers Team!

Do you struggle to feel your glutes during squats?

Try adding a band!

The added resistance pulling inwards forces your glutes to engage more to keep your knees out

Try it and tell me what you think!

Struggling with your training motivation?

Feel like you've lost that 'spark'

Well, same.

Or at least I did a few months ago

Training felt so effortful, that I ended up taking a month off

Its not the first time, and it won't be the last

Like any other part of your life, your fitness will fluctuate

But being able to get back on track is what makes it a normal part of your life

So here's how I got back on track with my training

Let me know your thoughts below 💪

1) Take a step back

Take a few days away from the gym. Focus on recovering, resting, relaxing and recharging

2) Build the habit of turning up

Focus on turning up for 5 minutes, walk a bit, stretch a bit, and leave straight away.

Get the brain used to turning up so it feels like less of a mission

3) Assess your training plan

What isnt working?

Is it too hard, not seeing enough progress, not interesting to you, too long, are you not sure what to do?

Find the issue to fix the issue

4) Reduce the time youre in the gym

Reduce the sets, superset moves, reduxe rest times

Become more efficient when youre there and get out fast!

5) Take the pressure off

Stop trying to be perfect

Being on the treadmill for 5 minutes is better than not moving

Eating beans on toast is healthier than a takeaway

Small steps towards your goals make the biggest difference long term

Cheers team!

Get more from your chest workouts!

One of my favorite ways to help grow your chest is this combo chest fly - press.

Start off with a chest fly, once we start to feel the form fatigue switch to a traditional chest press

The fly pre fatigues the chest muscles, while the press acts as a more controlled version to get that extra stimulus

Demonstrated excellently by Josh!

Try it out, let me know what you think 💪
