⚽️ Evo Sport vs. New Tupton Ivanhoes Gold ⚽️
What a way to kick off our U10s journey! 🚀 The boys travelled away to Leisure United Graves in Sheffield for a brilliant, high-level game against a top-quality Evo side. It wasn't our easiest shift, but the lads dug deep, showed massive resilience, and came away with a fantastic result.
Here is how it went down over the three thirds:
⏱️ First Third: Flying Start 🔥
Tupton came out of the blocks on the front foot! We controlled the game, pressed brilliantly, and built confidently from the back. Finley and Harry T completely locked down the backline, meaning Jaxon in goal had a quiet but alert start.
In the middle, Harlyn was brilliant dictating the play, working tirelessly, and feeding our wingers, Charlie and Sajin who looked exciting going forward. Up top, Henry led the line with incredible energy in his pressing. The pressure paid off when Sajin hunted down the ball with a brilliant press and produced a composed finish to put us ahead! 🎯
⏱️ Second Third: Digging Deep 💪
We rotated the squad with George, Lochran, and Harry W coming on. Evo showed their quality here and really piled on the pressure. We lost a bit of our rhythm, but the boys battled hard! 💪
Lochran was strong at the back with some strong challenges, and Harry W worked his socks off on the transition to cause real problems out wide. George came agonisingly close to doubling our lead, just firing wide on his weaker foot. When Evo did get through, Jaxon was equal to it, pulling off some big stops from distance. A gritty, resilient performance to keep them out! 🧤
⏱️ Final Third: Drama & Determination!
The final period was finely balanced. Finley was unlocking Evo's defense with some unbelievable cross-field passing to find Charlie in space time and time again. Evo were constantly threatening though, and they eventually capitalised on a loose pass to equalise.
But this team doesn't drop their heads! The response was exactly what we wanted, the boys simplified their football and in 2 minutes turned the game in our favour 👏
⚽️ First, George played a brilliant ball to Charlie, who whipped in a cross behind Evos defence for Henry to finish first-time at the back post! 💥
⚽️ Then, Henry showed amazing vision to play Charlie in behind, and he absolutely smashed a rocket across goal into the top corner! 🚀
🏆 Player of the Match Awards 🏆
🌟 Opposition POTM – Harlyn
An incredible performance in the centre of the park. So comfortable on the ball and his decision-making elevated the whole team. When he plays like that, he is completely unplayable. A masterclass in dictating the game! 👏
🌟 Referee POTM – Charlie
Mr. Consistent! Always a threat going forward, but it was his desire to fight for the ball that stood out today. He has that magic to win a game, proving it with a brilliant assist and a rocket of a goal. 👏
🌟 Coaches POTM – Jaxon & Finley
Both were absolutely essential to our defensive solidity today. Jaxon kept his focus perfectly and made some vital saves. Finley was solid all game, and his maturity to bounce straight back after a late mistake was fantastic. Brilliant communication from both boys! 👏
🖤💛 Not our perfect performance, but to get a result like that against a team of Evo's quality shows exactly what this group is made of. Lots of positives to take away and areas to build on.

Tomorrow is an opportunity for some team bonding as the boys try their hand at go karting 🏎 followed by our u9s Season presentation 🏆🎉
