Yoga isn’t just about stretching your body, it can be a powerful way to support an anxious mind. 🧘♀️
When we’re anxious, the nervous system can get stuck in a state of alert; constantly scanning, anticipating, and preparing for something to go wrong.
Yoga gives you a chance to interrupt that cycle.
Through slow, intentional movement, conscious breathing and moments of stillness, we begin to shift our attention away from the noise in our mind and back into the body.
The breath becomes an anchor.
The movement helps release tension.
The stillness teaches us that we don’t have to react to every thought.
With regular practice, yoga can help us become more aware of what anxiety feels like in the body, create space between a thought and our reaction, and practise returning to a calmer state.
It’s not about never feeling anxious again.
It’s about learning that when anxiety comes, you have tools to meet it. 🤍
Come back to your breath.
Come back to your body.
Come back to yourself. ✨
