**ANNOUNCEMENT: Funding approved for new park.

Well it has taken a long time and a lot of work from people behind the scenes but we have finally got funding for a concrete park in Chester.

It’s location will be Lime Fields in Newton.

Designs have been drawn and the park builders have been chosen.

I’m not sure what I can announce at the moment, but when I know I can say more, I will update it here.

It’s been a long time coming.

The number of reports of anti-social behaviour in Dorchester has fallen by 19 per cent since the completion of a public skatepark in April 2009, and in the area where the skatepark is located the reduction is even more significant at 33 per cent.

Okay a bit of an update. have managed to speak to my local Councillors and they seem positive about the idea and are happy to help push it forward. They did say it would not be quick but it is a start. I need to get some information to them about the numbers of people that would use the park. As a result we need to make sure everyone in Chester is aware of this page and likes it so we can prove there is a demand. Need to get that number into the hundreds and they they can not turn it down.
