This smile took 10 years, it's okay to need time 🤍

I'm a Pilates teacher, not a businesswoman, and have always felt safer teaching in established businesses or homes. Recently, I've started teaching in a church hall, it's taken me 10 years to pluck up the courage to put my own name out into the world. I've taught almost 12,000 classes and have a lot more experience than most, so there's no logical reason why I was scared, but thinking logically doesn't necessarily help.

"Readiness is a choice, not a feeling."

Now I know there was never anything to worry about. If it's a success, then great, if it's a flop, then at least I tried and learnt something new about myself. 💪

I love this card for one word: 'introduction’. 🤍 This was written when my client had done twenty(ish) classes and still knew without me needing to say she's at the beginning of her journey.

I'll sometimes joke, saying, 'You're suffering from a very common, invisible illness.' The client looks at me, often confused… then I continue, 'This imaginary illness is called Avoid Things You’re Not Good At.'

The best thing about my job is seeing people learn, change, and grow. But if I had a pound for every time someone said ‘Sorry, I'm not very good at this,' I could probably buy the moon 🌙

The thing is, if you asked me to count to ten in Italian, I wouldn't be very good either... because I've never done it before. 🥳

It's really hard, but try and allow yourself to be 'not very good' at new things, and you'll be surprised how much quicker you improve. 🥰

My second favourite word would be encouragement 🥳. That’s exactly what I'm here to do. 🙌 Everything else, the success, the effort, the practice, the perseverance is all your win. 🏆

I'm not a wiz at instagram, so when looking at the picture filters and the choice Halo came up it couldn't be a more perfect one to choose 🥰

This bright light definitely deserves her halo 🤍

Not only the most truly lovely lady with the kindest heart, she's also one of the most hardworking, resilient clients I've ever had 🥰 After a big surgery last year, now she's back looking as strong as ever! 💪

Private classes are the perfect place to heal, no matter how big or small your light is. I'll be here helping you grow 🌈 Keep shining bright, lovely (I'm sure you will!) ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

I still drive an hour and a half to my 'home' hairdresser. It's not that the ones I've tried in Chester aren't good, it's that feeling of cautiousness of being in a new place… somehow my hair just doesn't feel the same.

Everyone knows the feeling of walking into a new space and having that slight feeling of caution. You'll never have that exercising in your own home. 🤍

When you have that feeling of safety, your body relaxes, especially for people living with ongoing pain; it can be the difference between a good class and a great class.

If trying new things haven't worked for you in the past, maybe that's the key. It’s not just what you do, but also where you do it. 🔑

One of the best parts of my job is when a client pops into your head from years ago. Your heart smiles, and you spend a moment wishing them well 🥰

Today and many days, I think about a lovely group I taught at a care home. They made my heart happy in the best way 💕 Not strong, flexible, or pain-free, but the clients came every week, bringing so much brightness to my day, and just like these flowers, made my world a little happier 🌷

When I had to move on, we all did a little cry, and I was gifted this lovely bunch. They lasted what felt like months (cut Orcids), and now whenever I see an Orcid or a care home, I think of them 🥰 To be the best client, you don't need to be perfect at Pilates..that's not even slightly important. It’s learning to find some light in whatever you’re going through, and knowing that even years later you'll still be bringing brightness to my day and I'll still be sending my love 🥰

Your knowledge, expertise, enthusiasm, advice and encouragement has helped me achieve a more balanced posture, which was my goal. I have also regained so much more confidence in my everyday activities because your chosen exercises have been absolutely 'spot on'. You are an excellent teacher and I promise I will continue the work you started.
