We will be running company-wide personal survival lessons week commencing 22nd June 2026. All swimmers will be challenged to apply basic swimming skills to swimming in an emergency situation.
With swimmers likely to be around water (seaside, pool, or lake/river water) we must appropriately prepare you and remind you of both the potential dangers and necessary safety precautions in order to keep you safe.
Our survival sessions are highly structured and organised for the safest possible delivery of these hugely important self-survival skills. We will not compel any swimmer to undertake any task but will organise the practices in such a way that they are highly achievable (for instance, BC+ and Imp swimmers may wear muscles if preferred). A warm, safe, organised, and controlled environment is by far the best place for swimmers to gain these experiences, so we ask that everyone supports this important mission.
(Appropriate Clothing to Wear)
3 Items:
1. Long-sleeved shirt or top (NOT short-sleeved)
2. Long-sleeved jumper, cardigan or hoody
3. Trousers, jeans or dress/skirt
Please could you ensure that the clothing is NOT PYJAMAS.*
*To gain maximum benefit from this session, swimmers should wear usual clothing, which tends to be heavier than pyjamas. As already mentioned, this is a highly structured and very safe session, and we will take great care of all swimmers β BUT this is the very best and safest possible environment for swimmers to gain the experience of swimming in clothes β please do take it.
