U10/U11 Centurions had a 5-5 thriller today against a Washington Golds. Was a very strange game, we were never ahead in the game, 3-2 down at halftime, the 5-2 to them not long after the break.

I’m not sure at what point the boys decided to wake up and start playing football, and to be quite frank, put proper effort in, but they obviously smelled a comeback and you could see the change in their attitude. It’s a double edged sword, extremely happy they stepped up in the final quarter, but to the casual observer you’d have said “Why didn’t they do that in the first place?”.

Girls had their first pre-season friendly this morning. Coming a way with a 4-2 win💙🤍

It was great to get the girls back out on the pitch and give two of our three new signings the opportunity to show what they can do.
The girls started slowly, which was to be expected with it being their first competitive game in a while. We asked them to work hard out of possession to create chances, make the pitch big, and move the ball quickly. For the first 20 minutes or so, we never really got going, but Annie was dictating the game from midfield and playing some lovely through balls. We just couldn't quite take our chances.

Eliza did really well with her recovery runs, helping to stop attacks as we pushed high up the pitch.

A drinks break due to the heat gave us a great opportunity to speak to the girls about the game plan and make a few adjustments.
One of our new signings, Sophia, got her first goal for the club with a superb strike from outside the box. ⚽

In the second half, we asked the girls to increase the tempo and put more pressure on the opposition's back line. Annie continued to control the game from midfield, and the girls looked much more up for it. We used the wide areas really well, with Emily and Amber causing problems down the wings and delivering some excellent balls into the box.

The girls looked more relaxed and started to move the ball around with confidence. Sophia grabbed her second goal after turning brilliantly and driving into the box before finishing with her left foot. ⚽

Sophia then produced a lovely through ball for our other new signing, Layla, who controlled well and finished neatly into the bottom corner. ⚽

Annie continued to keep possession well and regularly found our attackers with some excellent passes.

Sophia completed her hat-trick with a brilliant first-time volley from a corner. 👏⚽⚽⚽

The opposition pushed hard towards the end, and with us continuing to play high, there was always a risk. They scored two quick goals to keep our girls on their toes, but it was a valuable lesson and good experience for the team.

Well done to both teams for playing in the heat and putting on a very good game.

Wanted to say a huge well done and thanks for your efforts to all our players, parents and coaches for the 2025/2026 season

The boys have completed their last games at U8 over the last couple of weekends and now move on toward 2026/2027

Our Tigers 🐯 managed to finish runners up in the winter league and narrowly missed out on two promotions in a row, finishing just outside the top two in the Spring Cup 🏆💪🏻👏🏻

Meanwhile the Lions 🦁 followed up a strong second half to their winter league phase by winning their Spring Cup in style, losing only one game by an odd goal 🏆💪🏻👏🏻

We've seen our squad grown from 8 players a year ago to 12 and while winning games and having success overall is great

Integrating the new lads over the summer/autumn, mixing up the teams between the two phases and watching every player become close teamates, develop their abilities and put huge effort into training and games has been the highlight for us all

We look forward to encouraging further integration, development and success across the squad with our U9 Tigers 🐯 and new U10s Sunday Leopards 🐆

Thanks also to the club and management team for their continued support 🤍💙🤍💛🤍

U11s had a lovely presentation evening to celebrate their first season with Chester le Street Town!
A huge thank you to the club for welcoming us into the fold and for all the help and support, it’s been amazing!
We honestly couldn’t be prouder of how much the lads have developed over the last year - bagging themselves a promotion for the start of U12!
A huge thank you as always to the families for all your support and of course to the boys - you should all be so proud of yourselves!
Keep doing what you’re doing - we can’t wait to see where 2026/2027 takes us!

The girls have really excelled this season playing a year older. Winning both Saturday and Sunday Leauge’s, with the Sunday girls also winning the Leauge Cup.

With four of our girls selected to represented Sunderland U14s next season and with many others selected to represent various ETC’s we truly have had an exceptional year.

Well done girls from Teddy, Nathan and Paul.

Chester Town Lions U9s

First Half

The lads were up against a strong team today who played some really good attacking football.

Despite that, the lads worked hard, defended well and played some good football of their own. A good move from the opposition saw us go behind early on, but the lads never let their heads drop and kept going.

Isaac S was brilliant at the back, making things really difficult for their forwards. We got ourselves back into the game when Isaac S scored an absolute cracker from long range, with his shot dipping just under the crossbar.

Second Half

The opposition made the most of having the wind behind them in the second half, something we probably didn’t do enough of when we had it in the first.

We still had our chances and came close to scoring again when Charlie played a great through ball to Jack D, but his shot was well saved by the keeper.

In the end, the pressure told and we conceded a couple more goals.

The lads were great today. They never gave up, kept battling until the final whistle and worked hard for each other. We were beaten by a good side on the day, but there’s plenty to take into the next game.

Goal Scorer

⚽ Isaac S

Player of the Match

🏆 Isaac S

A well-deserved Player of the Match for Isaac S. He was excellent in defence and topped off his performance with another brilliant goal from distance.

A big thank you to Bennison Transport Limited for their support as our sponsor this season.

The U7 Dragon's finished the season today with a spectacular, hard fought performance. In a fiercely contested game that pushed both teams to their limits, the Dragon's displayed incredible teamwork, great finishing, and outstanding defensive resilience from the first whistle to the last.

The Dragon's started the match with high energy, taking the game to the opposition.

The attacking pressure quickly paid off with two brilliant goals.

Oscar opened the scoring with a sharp finish, setting the tone for the half. Shortly after, Toby found the back of the net with an excellent strike, giving the Dragons a well deserved boost.

The second half saw the opposition fight back, but the Dragon's matched their intensity.

Isaac recaptured the momentum for the Dragon's, scoring a vital goal.

The moment of the match came courtesy of Toby, who stepped up to take a brilliant free kick. He struck the ball beautifully, sending it directly into the net - a picture perfect moment fortunately caught on camera to cap off his impressive brace.

What stood out today the most was the team's adaptability and willingness to sacrifice for one another. Demonstrating immense development and maturity, taking a turn between the posts. Carter, Kaleb, Freddie, and Zach all shared the goalkeeping duties, each pulling off vital stops and showing tremendous bravery under pressure.

• Opposition Player of the Match: Zach – Recognised by the opponents for his tireless work rate, outstanding resilience, and brilliant contribution in goal.

Today’s game was a testament to how much these boys have developed as a collective unit this year. Every single player gave their absolute all in a very tight match. Sharing responsibilities and fighting for every ball proves that they are learning the true meaning of teamwork. A brilliant end to the season!

A Special Thank You to Dean
Following the final whistle, the club and parents would like to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to Dean, who has made the decision to take a step back after assisting the team for the past 6 months.

Dean has played a big part in supporting the boys, bringing great energy, patience, and dedication to training sessions and match days.

Up the Dragon's!!!

Ian 💙⚽️🐉
