Hilda park U9s girls football team, Roseberry playing fields, Chester-le-Street (2026)

Today our girls competed in a boys u9 games of tournament at downhill. Overall games we played 5, 4 in the group then we got through to the trophy quarter finals which we lost on penalties to the eventual winners Cramlington united tigers. Congratulations to Cramlington they gave us a great game in the quarters and deserved to go on and win. In the groups we started off with a 2-0 win over Sunderland RCA reds we played some quality football with the passing and moving and scored 2 very good team goals and u could see the confidence in the girls growing as the game went on. Second group game we can up against Birtley town juniors hoops and came away with a 1-1 draw very good team who gave us a very good testing game they started off quick the opposition and got a 1 - 0 lead but the girls battled on and got the equaliser on the counter getting 1-1 draw, third group game we played st Francis blues and came away with a 1-0 win very good close game which again we played some good passing football and got a very good team goal to win the game. 4th group game we played Chilton Juniors Ravens and came away with a 2-1 defeat again we played some good passing football and took a 1-0 lead in the game but got caught on the counter twice and lost the game 2-1 so we went through to compete for the trophy finishing third in the group. In the quarter finals we came up against group b winners Cramlington united tigers we drew the game 0-0 so we went onto penalties the game itself was a close game where I thought both teams defended really well so no goals, we ended up losing 2-1 on penalties (best of 3) and Cramlington united tigers went on to win the whole tournament, again massive congratulations to them from us. From our point of view I could not be more prouder of the girls and how they performed today. We played some quality football and scored some great team goals in which we are all proud of the girls for, unbelievable effort girls

This morning our girls finished off their summer league with a 4-4 draw against a very good Leam Rangers team. Massive credit to Leam Rangers today they gave us a great game n I thought the draw was a fair result for both teams today so well done to the opposition for todays game. We played some really good football at times today scoring some really good team goals which was pleasing to see from us, we also made lots of changes to combat the heat and gave players a chance in different positions so with all that going on today the girls have done brilliant to get the result they got today, well done girls I’m proud of each and everyone of you. Olivia G made her Hilda debut today and gave a solid performance grabbing a good assist and contributed brilliantly to our team play so well done Olivia G the future at Hilda park is going to be a very exciting one. The opposition coaches gave special mentions for their players of the match to Sav, Jess, Freya and Olivia G.

This morning our girls continued their summer league with a 7-1 win over Blaydon community jets. First half we struggled to take our chances but the passing and awareness of where each other was to get those through balls off was really impressive and we came at half time 1-1 as we missed a hat full of chances. Second half we improved our finishing and took our chances really well and scored some quality team goals to make it a 7-1 win. What stood out today for the girls was the awareness of where each other was and we got those through balls spot on to create the chances we did its was really a joy to watch. Keep it up girls yas are all smashing it. Also credit to the opposition who gave us a great game today. Well done to all the girls involved in today’s game it was a great game ⚽️

This morning our girls continued their summer league with a 5-2 win against hebburn town. Credit to the opposition who gave us a really difficult test today and it really was a very good game for everyone to watch so credit goes to both teams for that. First half we showed the opposition the respect they deserved as we knew they were a good team and so we set up defensively and defended brilliantly, going in half time at 2-2 we took the shackles off a bit and told the girls to attack more and press the opposition in and we did just that and got some very good goals, passing the ball around brilliantly the team work was excellent and to get the win was really impressive from our girls so a big well done to them all for that they were a credit to themselves today, well done girls yas are smashing it and we are all proud of each and every one of u, keep it up

This morning our girls played their second game of the summer tournament and came away with another win to make it 2 wins out of 2. Well done to all the girls some fantastic passing and moving and some quality finishing from our girls. Massive credit to our opposition today as well who gave us a great game well done all the girls today brilliant.

This morning our girls kicked off their summer league with a 6-2 win against beamish lionesses. Girls played some really good football at times today and scored some really good team goals which was always pleasing to see. The work rate was really good and the passing and moving was impressive for all to see and also the girls weren’t hesitant at getting their shots off so really well done girls. Keep it up girls you all smashed it this morning.

Well done also as we welcomed Jess and Sophia T to our team today in their first competitive league game for the Hilda Sunday team, they both started off with a bang and gave a 110% in what was a great overall team performance.

This morning our girls took on Heaton Hawkes Kestrels u8s and came away with a 4-0 defeat. Congratulations to the opposition and thank you to them for hosting our girls and giving them the test. Very well contested game which our girls really stepped up to the challenge and gave a good performance, only negative from our point of view was our man marking let us down and they got some goals from that but other that we played some good football and caused the opposition some problems, their keeper made a very good save in the second half denying us and we also had 1 cleared off the line from some good defending from the opposition. Massive well done to our girls for steeping up to the challenge today they done themselves and Hilda park proud. As always we will go again ⚽️

This morning our girls played a friendly at the Washington hub against Chester town under 10 girls. We came away with a 4-1 defeat but put in a good performance against a strong team in the next year up so for that the girls should be proud of themselves. We had our chances in the game aswell and battled really well with the next year up girls but they had some really good players who caused us problems so well done to them for that and thanks to them for hosting us and giving us the opportunity to test ourselves and thanks to the coach for the kind words at the end to our girls.

Tonight instead of training our girls had a friendly against Silksworth and hall farm boys and came away with a 3-3 draw. Fair result in the end as both teams had a go and had a good game, whilst we have played better we battled away and got a draw against the boys. Lots to work on and learn from but all in all a good exercise for our girls and a good physical test one that I thought they all stood up and made themselves count so well done to all the girls for that and their efforts. A special thanks aswell to Silksworth for hosting us this evening. Very good game lads thanks very much lads and coaches.

This morning our girls took on Boldon CA colts & girls blues and came away with a 3-1 defeat. Game of 2 halves from our point of view girls looked scared of it and didn’t play to their full potential and the opposition took full advantage and went in the break 3-0, second half we improved and became a lot more competitive and had some chances in attack and defended brilliantly and managed to get ourselves on the scoresheet. Full credit to the girls for their overall efforts today against very good opposition, well done girls ⚽️

This afternoon our girls were flag bearers for the Sunderland afc ladies in their game against Durham ladies. The girls enjoyed their day and had lots of fun at the game. Thanks to Sunderland afc ladies for having us and congratulations on the 3 points

This morning our girls took on Sunderland humbledon & plains farm yellows and lost 8-3. First half we came off 7-0 in what was a very very disappointing performance from the girls. We just didn’t get going at all first half and it ultimately cost us the game today. Girls improved in the second half but still can’t hide the first half performance. The press at the top of the pitch in the second half was pleasing to see from the girls but we can’t go into games like we did today. Work to be done and we will go again
